Unless you are an electronics engineer, it is unlikely you can fix. Look on the back for a fuse holder. If there is check it with a multimeter. It may be protecting the audio parts. Make sure you don't have a button press for a different audio source than what you think and also check if you have switchable speaker outputs. Finally make sure the speakers are connected and the dog hasn't pulled them out.

My jvc rx-500 has no sound, it turns on and functions but no sound

you might have the speakers turned off there is a difference between mute and speakers on and off mute will stop sound but speaker off and on stops power from getting to the speakers that may be your problem.Is your amp makin any weird noises?
