Samsung S830 digital camera sd card not formatting

I am trying to use a 32GB SD card for my samsung S830 digital camera and when I turn the camera on, it says 'Format' and 'click OK to conform' but when I press the OK button nothing happens? Do I need to use a different SD card?

Help, my samsung s830 keeps saying my card is locked and I can not figure out how to unlock it. Anyone know ?

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I have a digimax 4010. Do I get a 2mg sd card? What is the diference between a sd card and a sdhc

SDHC is an extension of the SD standard that extends the capacity from 2GB to 32GB. It's backward compatible in that devices designed for SDHC cards will also work with SD cards. It does not go the other way---that is, SDHC cards will not work in devices designed for SD cards.

I presume you mean a 2GB card, since a 2MB card might hold one picture.
The Digimax 4010 works with SD cards, not SDHC cards. You may use an SD card. Just make sure it is an SD card, 2GB and smaller. SDHC cards start at 4GB and go up to 32GB but, as stated earlier, will not work in the 4010.

Inserted memory card into camera and does not read

First make sure that the SD card's lock switch is not in the lock position on the card. This camera allows for both SD and SDHC so as long as the card you are using isn't over 32GB then it hsould work. There is a version of SD called SDXC (Secure Digital Extended Capacity) and these are over 32GB and will not work in your camera. Lastly you may have to format the card in the camera before it will be recognized; this is usually requested by the camera upon inserting the memory card. So the main step would be to make sure the "Lock" mechanism on the SD memory card itself is not engaged. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for visiting FixYa.com

It says the memory card needs formatting but when i go to format it this error occurs, FILESYS ERROR e00100

The Kodak Z612 only accepts standard SD cards up to 2GB. As you rightly point ot the physical charactreristics are identical, its the internal format of the card that defines SDHC.

Standard SD cards use FAT - which has a 2GB limit.
SDHC cards use FAT32 - which has a limit of 32GB.

Stick with 2GB or smaller standard SD cards.
