Phone the 'Certified Technician' and ask if they service Maytag stoves, then ask them how much they charge, and then finally ask them what the warranty is on their work. Then tell them to come back and fix it.
The reviews are very mixed and there are lots if dissatisfied people.
The best thing you can do is turn it off at the breaker when you go to bed tonight in the hopes of a reset. No one else has encountered your specific issue. The other thing with induction tops is that they must be perfectly clean.

Preheat ovens only when necessary. With conventional ovens, keep the preheating time to a minimum. Unless you're baking breads or pastries, you may not need to preheat the oven at all.
Food cooks more quickly and efficiently in ovens when air can circulate freely. Don't lay foils on racks. If possible, stagger pans on upper and lower racks to improve air flow.
Use glass or ceramic pans in ovens. You can turn down the temperature about 25°F and cook foods just as quickly.
Do not open the oven door often to preview the food. Each time you open the door the oven temperature drops by 25°F. Watch the clock or use a timer instead.
Full-size ovens are not very efficient for cooking small- to medium-sized meals, it generally pays to use toaster ovens or microwave ovens.
Check to be sure the oven door gasket is tight. Adjust or replace gaskets as required.
If you have a self-cleaning oven, consider using the self-cleaning feature immediately after regular baking when the oven is still hot. Less energy will be required to reach the cleaning temperature. Try not to use the self-cleaning feature too often.
Keep range-top burners and reflectors clean; they will reflect the heat better and save energy.
Match the size of the pan to the heating element; more heat will get to the pan and less will be lost to the surrounding air. A 6-inch pan on a 8-inch burner will waste over 40% of the energy.
On electric stove-tops, use only flat-bottomed pans that make full contact with the element. A warped or rounded pan will waste most of the heat.
When cooking with a gas range-top burner, use moderate flame settings to conserve gas. Also make sure the pilot light is burning efficiently, with a blue flame. A yellowish flame indicates an adjustment is needed because the gas is burning inefficiently.
Whenever possible, use a pressure cooker. By cooking food at a higher temperature and pressure, cooking time is reduced dramatically and energy use is cut by 50-75%.
What are you using to clean the stove? Only cleaners made for ceran type tops should be used according to directions. Do not use enamel coated pans or glass pans on your cooktop. If you have a boil over, turn off the burner and change to a different burner immediately. Clean up the spill completely before cooking on that burner again. Use a flat edge razor to clean tough residue. Your cooktop will look new for years to come, even with heavy use.
As far as the scratch, don't use abrasive cleaners on the top and only use pots and pans with flat bottoms. If you do use cast iron pans, never scoot them around on the top.
Took entire cook top apart, dried each of the components then reassembled. I donot recomment this unless you are very handy. Not an easy job but doable. Also
ok
i have been called out alot on this,,,,
believe it or not thats 100% normal
you are not cooking with those burners, you are actually cooking from the heat of the glass.
your "burner" element will cycle as needed to keep the glass your pan is sitting on at the temp you set
let it heat up, the glass will get hot quickly, GAS FAST as they say....
dont worry about the cycling put your pan on top and begin to cook,, it will work
If the water has been dried up, it was most likely the drip pans. Water is non flammable, sorry i couldn't help myself. If water was the problem there would be sparks and buzzing noises first.
when you set a cook top burner to high then it should stay on until the "thermal" limit shuts it off. then the burner will stop glowing. if you dont put a burner on the top, the burner sensor will shut of on the thermal safety. it is normal but what you need to check is if you pans are flat on the bottom. a bow inwards or outwards will cause the thermal to shut the burner off. the pan needs to "draw" the heat out of the top and allow the burner to operate properly. most of the time the pans a warped causing the burner to cycle on the limit and then not heat as well as it could with a "flat pan"
