I have a Frigidaire upright freezer LFFH21F7HWJ that suddenly stop freezing. Temperature rose to mid 30s and would not go lower regardless of setting. Condenser fan does not seem to be spinning.

From some online posts I got the hunch the problem was the condenser fan. I could not hear it spinning and when I opened the door and held the light button in for over a minute it never went into operation. The fan blades turn without obstruction or grinding though it requires a bit of effort; the blades don't spin freely. Multimeter returned an Ohm reading of 122 suggesting the wiring is good. So is the fan OK and if so what else might be a cause?

If fan require an effort to turn it is bad should spin freely

Testimonial: "Thanks. And further research online suggests an ohm reading of 122 between the 2 terminals when power is off is bad, not good, correct?"

With no power applied to motor those blades should spin freely. 122 seems pretty high, you need a motor.

The upright frigdiare freezer displays -10 degrees and runs continusly i couldnt set it to 0

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire freezer, model# LFFH21F7HWJ, is displaying -10 degrees and runs continuously. I also see that you were unable to set it to 0 degrees. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Sometimes there can be a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. Restore power and try the temperature to 0 degrees. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Lost owners manual

You only require fast freeze if you are using the freezer for the first time, after a defrost, or if you add a large quantity of fresh food to an already running freezer. Most freezers require about eight hours at fast freeze. As to the temperature setting I would suggest you purchase a purpose built freezer thermometer (very cheap) and place that on top of the food. With the thermostat control set mid way (about 3 or 4) check the thermometer occasionally see what the temperature reads. It should be around -18C, if it's lower then set the thermostat lower at 2-3, if its higher set the thermostat higher at 4-5. Repeat this until the freezer temperature is correct.

My Fridgidaire upright Gallery freezer is freezing my food but the appliance seems to be constantly running and the temperature control on the outside is reading 29 Celsius when it obviously isn't

Hi Susan Abboud - Modern freezers have increased storage capacity and keep more even temperature that may require the compressors to run longer but use less energy. Was the unit disconnected previously for any reason? If so, freezer requires a minimum of 4 hours to cold down completely. Confirm that the temperature control is not set too cold and that the door is not being open frequently. A dirty, cracked, worn or poorly fitted door gasket can allow warm air to enter the unit causing it to have to run longer to remove the warm air. Leaks in the door seal will cause freezer to run longer in order to maintain desired temperature. Cleaned the gasket, if it is too damage then it will need to be replace. You can check and see if the door seal is bad by, placing a dollar between the gasket and cabinet. Check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing properly. If nothing is stopping the door then replace gasket. Keep in mind that there should also be at least 4-6 in of air space on all sides of the unit. If freezer is built in or has items stored on top that cover the unit, the can cause long run times, high temperature in the freezer and premature failure to the unit. Do not block the toe grille on the lower front of the unit. Sufficient air circulation is essential for the properly operation of your freezer, about 3 inches around the unit.

Freezer is on but no longer freezing. The freezer temperature is set at the coldest setting. Why is this happening?

You could have an issue with the temperature control, the compressor or refrigerant, or compressor attachments (e.g.: relay, overload or capacitor (if applicable). Contact an appliance service company.

Does the light on the outside of freezer stay on . I bought a used freezer. It is a frigidaire commercial upright (frost free) Does the light on outside of freezer stay on all the time? I have no manual....

Normally there is a Green light showing that power is on

A Yellow one for fast freeze and a Red one for under temperature

The outer casing is well insulated from the inside otherwise the freezer motor would run none stop without cooling the contents so the temperature of the outside casing will reflect the room temperature not the intenal

Not Freezing

Check the door seal all the way around. We purchased one recently that was slightly dented (not noticeably and the seal was not tight.) You need to get in touch with whomever you purchased it from immediately so that it can be repaired or replaced.

The buzzer is loud

Frigidaire # LFFH2067DoW2 # WB52430831 upright freezer (frost free commercial)

Freezer is still freezing. The alarm sounded and I switched the switch off to turn off. The manual says that the temperature isn't at the right temperature and once it reaches the correct freezing temperature the light will come back on or the sound would go off after at least 4 hours. This was since last night about 6:00 and if i switch the switch the alarm is still sounding. The left side of the freezer is a little warmer than usual. Any suggestions
