Infocus in2124/in2126 projector keeps turning itself on. When it does you can't turn it off with the remote. What could cause this?

You can turn the projector off, come back later and it is running. Using the remote you cannot turn it off. It is hanging from a ceiling so you can't turn it off with the power button on the projector. What could be the cause of the projector turning it self on and then cannot be turned off

There are a few possible causes for a projector like the Infocus IN2124/IN2126 turning itself on and not being able to be turned off with the remote:
1. Remote control issues: Firstly, it's worth checking the remote control itself. Ensure that the batteries are fresh and properly inserted. Try replacing the batteries or using a different remote control to see if the issue persists.
2. Signal interference: Sometimes, external factors can interfere with the projector's remote control signal. Check if there are any sources of interference nearby, such as other electronic devices or strong light sources. Move these items away from the projector to see if it resolves the problem.
3. Faulty power button or control board: It's possible that the power button on the projector or the control board itself is malfunctioning. If the power button is not responding when pressed, it could indicate a hardware issue. In such cases, contacting Infocus customer support or a professional technician for further assistance or repairs may be necessary.
4. Firmware or software issue: Occasionally, a software or firmware glitch can cause unexpected behavior in electronic devices. Check if there are any firmware updates available for your projector model on the Infocus website. Updating the firmware can potentially resolve any known issues and improve overall performance.
5. Power supply issues: In some cases, fluctuations or problems with the power supply can cause erratic behavior in electronic devices. Ensure that the projector is connected to a stable and properly grounded power source. Consider trying a different power outlet or using a voltage stabilizer to rule out any power-related issues.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, it is recommended to reach out to Infocus customer support or consult a professional technician with expertise in projector repairs. They will be able to provide more specific guidance and troubleshooting steps based on your particular projector model.

Hello I have the infocus screenplay 5000 projector & after reading all the posts here decided I dont have a similar problem to anyone else. My bulb life expiration came up months ago but the unit works...

working with expired lamp can cause the overheat, and the power supply will be damadged, you need to replace the chemical caps at secondary parts as shown in the picture below:

My x6 infocus does not react to the remote control

sometimes there is a switch near the battery or on the bottom of the remotes to disable it. otherwise some projectors have an option in the menu that you need to turn on to be able to use the remote, it should be under IR options

My proxima dx2 turns off by itself ~5 minutes after it is turned on. Why

try resetting to factory default. does the fan and light turn off at the same time? you have a power supply problem. if the fans stay on when the lamp is off, you need to clean the dust out of your projector because it's overheating. dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. blow it out with canned air. if it still does that, replace the lamp.

My in1 projecter keeps turning itself off

if the lamp has 2000 hors on it, it needs replacing. go into the menu and find out how many lamp hours are used. it could be the lamp and it could be the ballast.

Infocus led diagnostic

it might be overheating. clean off the dust filters (bottom towards the front). if there's not enough airflow to cool it down, the projector will shut off to save itself from damage.
