Why is it so hard to raise the needle?

Try 20% pressure on treadle that should release the pressure enough to turn wheel

Needle position adjusting dial not working

The needle, on the other hand, does not move in either direction, and the dial emits an audible beep beep noise, as if I had moved it too far in either direction . Because of this behavior, it appears as though I have gone beyond the dial's maximum adjustment range.

My hand wheel is locked after a needle broke inside my machine. How do I fix this?

The broken needle may be jammed in the hook or race and/or the hook or race may be damaged. Remove the bobbin and the hook. See video on removing hook on a Juki.

I keep having a black substance building up on the screw that holds the needle in place on my Juki 2000 which then gets on my fabric and is near to impossible to get off.

Is there excessive oil on the needle shaft (above the screw)?

Try lowering presser foot and advance hand wheel so needle is at its lowest position. Then take a clean dry rag and wipe around the shaft just above the screw and see it gets dirty. If yes, the machine needs a thorough clean and lube.

Du 1181n on thick vinyl as soon as I start sewing the thread comes out of the needle. What do I need to adjust. Needle is an 18. Thanks

Pull more thread tail through the needle eye before beginning to stitch. You can also hold the thread tail in your left hand while taking the first few stitches. Vinyl is sticky to sew so it may be helpful to try a top-stitch needle and perhaps a roller foot.

I ran my Juki DDL 8700 without any fabric to test and the threads got sucked in and now the needle is jammed, when I turn the hand wheel it won't move the needle.

Loosen the needle. Once the needle is released, the threads holding it may loosen. Then gently try clipping jammed threads with tiny scissors and patiently try removing cut threads with tweezers..

I have a Juki DU 141NH industrial sewing machine. I just had it serviced. I had to put a new bobbin in and now the needle is not catching my bobbin thread. Please help!

Be sure you have the proper needle - it is longer than standard needles, plus be sure that you put the needle in from left to right - not...front to back.

Does the Juki DL-555 sew leather?

ordinary drop feeds are not suited for sewing leather, ideally a needle feed or machine with a walking foot mechanism is best suited.if you are stuck with this machine only, there are a couple of things which may help.on some of the juki ddls there is an adjusting screw and locknut on top and in the middle of the arm of the machine .turn needle by hand wheel to bdc and loosen this screw and turn clockwise slowley! this will raise the presser foot very slightly,so when the feed dog is at tdc it can improve the feeding . spear point needles are reccommended also. one other idea, but you need a qualified mechanic to do this is to alter the feed timimg slightly on the eccentric on the top shaft.as the needle is entering the fabric, slow the timing down so the needle enters the leather just as the material starts to move. hope this helps! cheers kev w 07725903110
