the clicking may have been coming from the relay itself, but it doesn't simply mean that the relay is faulty. clicking may also be caused by transformers, indicating that some electronic components have developed SHORT CIRCUIT. try measuring resistance of transistors and diodes near the power unit (unplug/turn the unit OFF of course) check also for the impedance of the output power transformers.
check the amplifier IC for short also.

What do i do when my unit says update failed?

Hope it is still under warranty. Only real fix for that is to replace the digital pcb.

How much damage did I inflict when I plugged this 110v unit into 220v?

check electrolytic capacitors in power board printed circuit board see if voltage was over their voltage rating. Damage hard to say did the same thing to a printer got white smoke from capacitors . check if unit has a orderable 220v power board circuit board you could order. May you have blown up power circuit board hopefully and nothing else.

My RX-V2095 Yamaha receiver won't power up.

Wont power up, or stuck in "protect mode"? Unplug the unit & let it sit for a couple hours, then plug back in & listen for a "click" a turn (power supply relay energizing.) If no lights & no click, the first place to check is the mains fuse. If the unit is under warranty - take to an authorized facility & they will take care of it for you.

Relay clicking but receiver does not come on. Everything but power supply is unplugged from receiver. Yamaha av receiver rx-v800

it ca be your power trasistors or the bysing needs adjustment

YAMAHA RX-V630 WON'T POWER ON NO CLICKS

If the unit is like the Rx-570 , the display bulbs have quit.
Theyre 14 volt lamps about 0.1 wide x 0.250 long (white wire leads)
Located in the plastic shroud behind the display
