KitchenAid KUDS01FL - All lights on the panel remain on

I had a case where the Clean light was blinking 7 times. 1. I did a rest by hitting Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry. I then closed the door and opened it again. 2. I then pressed Cancel and everything seemed to be okay. 3. I tried to run the dishwasher by using Normal and Energy Saver. I ran the hot water before starting. It seemed to work but then stopped mid cycle. 4. The panel Clean light was then blinking 7 times. 5. I repeated Step 2 . This time when I hit Cancel, all of the lights remained on. I can't turn off the lights. I tried shutting down power to the dishwasher and turning it back on. All of the lights remain lit. Please help. Many thanks!

Clean light just blinks and will not run

Ah, the famous (or infamous) Clean-light blinking problem. Watch that blinking light.... Does it blink 7 times, pauses, and repeats? Or does it blink 3 times (or some other number). The most common problem is 7 blinks wich means "water not heating error". This could be caused by a bad heating element, a bad thermal cutoff, a bad controller; or the problem could be that 1 of the 2 switches inside the door latch is not getting engaged fully. Most of the time, I find that the cause to this problem deals with the latch, or the switches in the latch. If something (like a soda) gets spilled into the latch, it can cause the plastic parts to stick and not slide to engage the 2 door switches. You might need to take the latch out (unplug the dishwasher first!), remove the switches, and clean the plastic parts with water, dry it, and then re-assemble. The other thing to check is the door strike, which is supposed to push down the latch. The springiness of this metal part may be weak. You can remove it (without pulling out the dishwasher), by using a small screwdriver to release the little catches on either side of the "tongue" or "tang". Bend the center part down slightly more to give it more force, and then re-insert it. Then run the diagnostic cycle (by pressing the following sequence of keys: Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry), let it run for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the dioagnostic cycle and clear the error.
Note: On some of the newer Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid dishwashers, you start the diagnostic cycle by rapidly pressing the 3 left-most keys in the following sequence: 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3.

I have a kitchen-aid dishwasher model # KUDio1ibl6 and it will not come on and the clean light flashes 7 times then pauses and blinks 7 time again. Do you have any Idea what this code stands for I do not...

Hello Asa,

The light blinking seven times is a error code specifically it's error #7 .The E-7 error indicates the part called the flow meter is bad. To clear that error code and get the dishwasher to start push within 3 seconds
HIGH TEMP WASH -HEATED DRY-HIGH TEMP WASH- HEATED DRY

then push CANCEL sereval times to dishwasher shuts off..it should start and run then

If the blinks 7 times again the flowmeter will need to be replaced

ON some models the "HIGH TEMP WASH" button is labled power scrub instead of high temp wash
so in that case push POWER SCRUB-HEATED DRY-POWER SCRUB-HEATED DRY then cancel as described above

In case the E-7 error returns and the flowmeter needs to be replaced the part number for it is W10195536

Kenmore dishwasher clean light is blinking and now wont wash dishes what can i do?

try this and make sure you water is hot enough to cycle your washer, as it has a temp. sensor for this.

The clean light sometimes flashes and just needs to be reset. To do so hit the keys in the following order. <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Cancel>.

Hi

If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring).
It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Kitchenaid KUDS01FL -Dishwasher - "clean" light wont stop flashing; cant start a new load

Hi,

The clean light usually will blink due to a failure to heat the water properly. This dishwasher looks for a temperature rise of the water during a heating cycle if it fails to see this rise for multiple cycles it may shut down and blink the clean light.
There are a few things to check before resetting the control.
-The unit not being level so both door switches do not make contact
- The sump plugged up so water is not pumping across the heater (see sump clean out below)
- Not enough water filling the dishwasher
- The heat element is not working
To reset the control use this key dance within 5 seconds press: HEATED DRY, NORMAL, HEATED DRY, NORMAL
This will cause you to enter the diagnosis cycle once this is finished or you hit cancel the control should be unlocked and ready to use.

Thank you !
