Rockwell VersacutRK3440K. Motor runs. Why doesn't blade turn?

I have disassembled the saw, trying to get to the shear pin. I however cannot separate the Gear housing to get to the shear pin .How do you separate the gear housing?. I removed all the bolts but i do not know how to remove the shaft/attachment were you mount the blade, is it pressed fit? or perhaps threaded on ? in my view it needs to be removed so i can separate the housing and get to the area where the shear pin is located to replace. Thanks Best Regards. Daniel C Plascencia

My Rockwell Versacut RK3440K saw, the motor runs but the blade does not turn , is the a shear pin some where in the shaft?

There are three items in the parts schematic called 'pin'. Open the page, press CTRL+F (Find). type 'pin' and press Enter.

My guess is that it is part 78. A trick to make the image larger. On a computer put mouse cursor over the diagram and 'open in a new tab'. In the image tab hold down CTRL and rotate the scroll wheel. To return to normal zoom press CTRL+0 (zero)

Rockwell tablesaw model 34_580 and the motor turns too slow . What is the problem?

It might also be the centrifugal switch in the end of the motor. Try blowing out the motor, sometimes sawdust builds up in the switch. O the start capacitor. in either case the motor will have to removed.,
Find a motor shop and take it to them, I would replace the bearings while they have apart. Here is a link to manual

I need an owner's manual for a Rockwell 34-660 model table saw. I want to replace the blade but the entire shaft turns when I try to remove the shaft nut from the shaft.

You might be able to find a manual here.
You need to lock the blade in place so it doesn't rotate when you loosen the arbor nut. Many older rockwell saws actually had a detent ground in the shaft behind the blade that allow the use of a second wrench to hold the shaft from spinning while the nut is loosened. It takes a special thin wrench to get in there, and the ones that came with the saws were bent just behind the head of the wrench to get around the blade and out the throat, but if you know anyone with a delta tablesaw they may have one you can borrow, or perhaps you can grind down an old cheapy that fits.
If that's not the case, try the instructions I gave in this link.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Motor works but doesnt turn spindle with blade on it

you may have (probably) put something in there that wouldn't chop or grind, and the blade wasn't able to turn. When this occurs, a safety feature called a 'shear pin' breaks. The shear pin passes through on side of the base of the blade, through the motor shaft, and out the other side of the base of the blade. The pieces of the shear pin have to be removed, and replaced with a new pin. A common roll pin of the appropriate diameter should do the trick. Bear in mind the shear pin is a 'pressed fit', so removal of the old bits may be difficult. But it can be done.

It does not grind the beans. The motor is running and it is spinning but nothing happens.

I am assuming you refer to the spinning of the motor, but not the grinding mechanism? Often times, the blade, grinder, or whatever does the actual work is on a shaft from the motor. There is a 'shear pin' through the blade, &tc which not only holds it on the shaft, but causes it to turn. If something jams the cutting part, the pin 'shears' off, to protect the motor from burning out. It sounds like that is what has happened to your grinder. The shear pin bits must be removed from the grinder and the motor shaft and a new one inserted. Usually, a common 'roll pin' will make a suitable substitute. Just make sure it is the proper diameter for a tight fit.
The motor shaft spins, but the blade, &tc does not turn.

Blade doesn't turn with motor

Hi Dean,

I'm not aware of a shear pin, but it makes sense that there would be one. It's not something you look for unless, well, it shears.

It would also make sense that it would be located on the drive train.

I'd take off the guard and blade, then inspect the drive wheel mount to the motor. Remember, if it turns out to be a shear pin, you're also looking for the reason it sheared.

Make sure the other wheel spins freely. Nothing is binding. that sort of thing.

Best regards

Skil saw motor runs but blade won't spin

you have a loose nut.  Let me explain...the nut and washer that holds the blade to the motor has worked loose.  You need to remove the plate around the blade to acess it and on the end of the blade is a large nut.  Tighten it with the power off.  Sometime there is a grove on the motor shaft to hold the motor or sometimes you need to put a screwdriver into the teeth of the blade to hold in place to tighten.
