Double check the flat ribbon connectors going from the panel boards to be sure they're all connected correctly, if they are the panel was damaged when it was handled, or from static, if grounding bands aren't worn it's quite easy to damage it from static.
I'd give you a 90% chance of bad LED backlights. There have been some issues with LED drivers but most the time it's the backlights, Vizio does things a bit different than other brands, most sets if a strip goes bad the entire set is dark but vizio drives each string separately so it's possible to have sections dark on the screen
