My Zanussi Jetsystem 1200 won't lock it's door, I'm trying to diagnose where the problem lies.
My Zanussi Jetsystem 1200 won't lock it's door.
The door clicks shut as usual, and the handle works fine.
When it should be locking itself, it clicks and then clunks again, tries this twice, but does not lock, the lock light does not come on, and the machine displays E40, ie a door lock error.
As it clicks and clunks so I guess power must be going to the doorlock mechanism, and it's trying to lock itself... but doesn't succeed.
Will fitting a new lock mechanism resolve this issue?

E40 is a door lock fault code, you need to replace the door lock,
you cannot reset the fault code, this happens automatically when the fault is rectified. nice easy job though.
on my mums zanussi,, after opening door, machine had not drained and spined, closed door again could not get machine to go,, this time could not get door opened..there is power to machine.
