I have a Toshiba model 49L621U made in 2016 and turns off. Anyone know what the issue?

Screen quickly flashes and power led light blinks 10 times from the time I plug it in and powers off. During the process I hear just brief static noise and no picture.

Are you able to remove the back and get some voltage readings?

You have one of three issues, bad main, power board or backlights, first thing to test is the main board, look on the power supply at the legend and look for one marked PS_on or INV_on, measure that pin using frame as ground and see if you have from 3.2 to 3.6 VDC with the set powered on but not working. I want to see what you find there before going on.

    Larry I could not see a PS_on or INV_on

I replaced power supply and it still flickers the Toshiba screen and the led still blinks 10 times.
    Anyone have a suggestion?

It don't make any sense replacing boards without doing the testing to find out what board is bad. Your power supply board has it marked pwon, it's pin 12, test that for just over 3 vdc, if you see it test the backlight on pin, should see around 3 vdc (pin 13), if either voltage isn't there replace the main, if both look ok your backlights are defective and I think this will be your issue.

Larry, I found those pins and no voltage at all. Guess I need a new main board.

  • Larry Apr 18, 2022

Let me double check something, you have the red lead on the pwon pin, black to frame ground then push the on button on the TV and don't get any voltage, correct?

On my Power Supply the closest I could find is at the connector which goes to main board. On mine it is pin 12 (PWon) reads .33 VDC and pin 13 is listed as listed as BLon at .13 VDC. I did use the power button this time. It takes a bit for it to turn on after it turns off.

Larry sorry about the comment you posted con PWon. I thought I read PSon from your comment. I was a Army Instructor and I was good at teaching Omh’s law so I was always stuck teaching that. I’m retired Army April 8, 1989- 30 September 2011. Before the Army was a Marine from 9 May 1984-7 April 1989. I was a mechanic and retired as a motorSgt. Thank you for your assistance

Larry, I replaced the main board. Now when I push the power button the red led light stays on with no picture or sound. If I press the on/off button again I’ll get a full screen and it flashes off and when it does the speakers make a one second speaker static noise. The red led light now flashes 5 times. ????? I guess maybe the bulbs are bad?

Samsung TV 2016, 49 - no power, no red light, blinking backlight

It sounds like you may have a couple of issues, it's normal for the backlights to come on if the main is unhooked but the flashing sounds like bad lamps. The 5 volts is standby voltage, next step is measure the PS_On pin when you turn the set on and see if you get around 3 volts there, if you don't you have a main board issue.

Will the LED backlights glow even when one LED is not working?when i switch ON tv,the toshiba logo displayed for a second and then it goes off.Flash light test on black screen shows images though.

I don't know your TV but are you sure that it is an "LED" TV? If not, it may be an "LCD" TV which is a bit different. An "LED" TV uses Light Emitting Diodes to illuminate the individual pixels or PIcture ELementS. If it is an "LCD" TV, the picture works more like an electronic digital watch. The picture is produced within the screen and uses a florescent tube on the bottom and side to back light the screen. If you can see the picture with a flashlight, I suspect that it is an "LCD" type. If it was an "LED" TV, and it didn't light up, the LED's that make up the pixels wouldn't be firing and you wouldn't be seeing a picture even with a flashlight. Just like any florescent light tube, these "LCD" back light tubes will dim with age until they eventually fail. If the Toshiba logo lights and goes out, this sounds like the bulbs or their high voltage drivers are failing. Good luck.

Toshiba TV, sound works but no picture I have a Toshiba 49L621U. It was made in September 2016. When I turn it on, I see “ Toshiba” in big bright red letters (normal startup image) than the TV goes black....

Same issue here. I kept plugging in the TV and it would flash the logo and go black. I disconnected the LED line from the power board, plugged the TV back in and the LED's all lite up and got great picture. Turned it off and on a few times with the power switch with no problem. Left it alone about an hour, came back, got the same symptoms all over again, Flash then nothing.

I changed out the Power Supply board....same issue, Flash of logo and black screen. Probably going to heave ho the set.

My Samsung un50es6150fxza LED TV won't power on. The red status led on the front blinks a pattern of 10 flashes in series of 2 (blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, pause..) Is this flash pattern a code?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
