Need a workshop manual to remove main bearing on Fisher&Paykel GW601-U

Did he replace Bearings AND Seals. The seals protect the bearings from water damage and rusting. Apply lots of Water Pump Grease even if it is a supposedly sealed bearing. Also make sure they are genuine OEM bearings and not Chinese copies.

This link shows two bearings and a seal. There is good advice at the bottom of the page. Not sure if for your model, but the advice is sound.

FWIW, front load washers are the way to go, except they take up a bit more footprint. They are far more Eco than any top loader.

the problem other then the thermosat and solenoid valves is probably the main board. to check you need to replace the board with known good second hand board . buy an old machine for parts

Hi just read your posting.Now just to confirm the model number,Is it GW601 or MW601?Now have you tried a hot fill and a cold fill and a warm fill?Have you removed the inlet hoses at the machine end and checked to see if water comes out of both hoses?Please reply with additional information on the questions and I am sure I can track down this fault for you.Looking forward to your reply.

Hi just read your posting.Please reply back and tell me which lights are flashing.This is an Error Code and it will let me know what is wrong with your machine.On the row in which the lights are flashing ,starting from the left to right which ones are flashing,Is it the 2nd and 4th or the 1st and 6th ---etc---?Please reply back with additional information on the lights and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.

sounds like your bearings have had it. if it washes it is not the motor. the sound u hear is the rusty bearings. to repair this u need to change both bearings, main seal and possible shaft. if u want to give the repair a go i will try to guide u thru it. but i must tell u it is a big job if u havent done it before. please reply 4 more help if needed

hi - does the control panel light up as normal? If it does, and everything else is working of sorts, then it is likely a motor is burnt out and you will need someone to come and investigate / replace it.
