Jenn-Air C301 Cooktop. Wiring instructions for electric burner switch on a Jenn-Air model C301

This is the correct way to wire the right front burner on Jenn-Air JEC8430ADS cooktop. Let's do the red wires first. The red wire that comes from #2 on the switch goes to the common connection for the element that should be labeled 2a. The other red wire goes to either of the "b", hot surface indicator switch contacts and the black to the other. Use 1b or 2b for these connections whichever reaches easiest. The yellow wire goes to the inside loop of the burner and the tan to the outside element.

This is usually the infinite switch has failed. They are easy to check and inexpensive. Here is a video that will walk you thru testing an infinite switch. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

The part you need to replace is the switch. The switch is housed under the top and connects to the dial you are turning.
The switch for the dual burner is 12002125, and 74011242 for the single burner.

The single burner switch runs about $20.00 and the dual runs about $50.00 for the parts

I have a JEC9536ADB electric Jenn-Air Cooktop. We replaced the class top and now the knobs are all spliting and won't work. 2 of the main burners will only heat in the "high" position? What do I need to replace?

same place you got the switches,you can usually get the whole harness.

The cook top is attached to the wood frame by brackets, just remove the screws and the electric connection, make sure the power is off from the main box, it's a 220 volt wiring and then just lift the top off. to remove the glass, look around the edges and you should see some small screws, just remove them and the glass should lift off.

Yes. Buy a burner module. Sears sells them also most appliance part stores. (I am assuming you have the model with 2 knobs on the grill side) The electric version of burner modules is around $100 Gas should be similar price.

It's an ignition switch. don't change the burner cartridge.

The switch under that knob is bad.  It's called an infinite switch.  As far as the elements go, first thing to check is for proper voltage (220) to the cooktop.  Let me know what you find.
