Your LG dvd player's lens might need cleaning. It is having a hard time reading those cds that is why it sometimes skips or just stops in the middle of playing them. Does this happen also to new cd's? Sometimes cleaning those cds helps the lens reading them.
If you have a disk cleaner, you can run that for 30 seconds on your player. It that does not help, then you might need to open your DVD player's casing and clean the lens manually by opening your player, get a soft cotton earbud and damp in an alcohol and gently wipe your dvd's lens. Then try to return back everything and test playing cd.
DVD's
are standard definition video sources. Number of lines output is 576
lines, whereas your HD TV set has 720 or 1080 lines. This difference
may result in a poorer image. However some DVD players are able to
“upscale” picture to obtain a very good picture. Check if your DVD
player has the following connectors: YUV, DVI or HDMI. For more
information, refer to the instruction manual of your DVD player.
Some HDMI or DVI featured
DVD players also have an internal processor that can upscale pictures
from a DVD to 720 or 1080 lines to provide an excellent picture from a
standard definition disc to your HD TV set. Those settings are
available from the setup menu of your DVD player. Please refer to the
instruction manual of your DVD player.
If
your DVD player does not have those connectors and only has a SCART
connector, or S-VIDEO, or composite, there is not much to do to improve
the picture quality. Just make sure that you are not using the cheapest
cables and that the picture settings of your TV set are correctly
adjusted.
Some high end TV
sets have a picture improvement engine that can soften a noisy image.
Make sure that it is activated from the setup menu of your TV set.
Please refer to the instruction manual of your TV set.
If people and objects have weird white outlines around them. This may
suggest that your TV sharpness is set too high. Make the correct
sharpness adjustments from the setup menu of your TV set.
Make sure you use good quality cables and that your cables are not too long (less than 5 meters long).
Make sure the video cable is plugged into the proper spot on both TV & DVD player. 2nd. Try cleaning with a good quality DVD cleaner. If this still doesn't solve the problem replace the video cable. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.
If the player is doing that for all DVDs but playing CDs properly, the player has gone bad due to either the laser and lens being out of whack or the DVD drive just doesn't recognise DVDs anymore and needs repaired or replaced.
Are you using DVD+R or DVD-R to burn the movies to? DVD+R is what you want to burn movies to for best quality and DVD-Rs are for like pictures and documents etc (even though you can also burn those to a DVD+R). Secondly, most movies that burn are played back in MP3 format, make sure your dvd playing is capable of playing MP3s.
What exactally do you mean by you bought 2 different types of blank videos?
My question would be are the movies in the right format. Just because they play on your computer does not mean they will play on you DVD.NTFS or FAT 32 would have no bearing on this. They are simply data per sector protocols and are related to magnetic storage devices. You may need the proper codec for you computer so it can make a DVD you player can play.
I needed to get the CD with the remote control in order to play songs and movies. There is a CD you buy that you can download onto your PS2 slim and afer you do this, you should be able to play movies, music, etc.....
What are “Recording modes”? for DVD-RW There are two recording modes available using this recorder: VR mode and Video mode. When recording to a DVD-R disc, recordings are always in Video mode. DVD-RW discs can be formatted for VR mode recording or Video mode recording. VR mode recording • 4 different picture quality/recording time settings available (SP, LP, EP, XP) • Not playable on regular DVD players • Recordings can be extensively edited • Total number of titles on the disc should be less than 99. Video mode recording • 4 different picture quality/recording time settings available (SP, LP, EP, XP) • Playable on regular DVD players (after finalizing) • Limited editing features • Total number of titles on the disc should be less than 99. Note : DVD-Video Format (Video mode) is a new format for recording on DVD-R/RW discs that was approved by the DVD Forum in 2000. You may therefore experience problems playing recordable DVD discs in some players. Symptoms include video artifacts, audio and/or video dropouts and playback suddenly stopping. Our company cannot take responsibility for problems playing discs recorded on this VCR/DVD Recorder in other players.
