Dometic B3000 Air Con has no power to it.

Just went to turn on our Air con unit and there seems to be no power running to the unit. The van is plugged into the mains and all other accessories in the van work fine. The remote is working and doing what it does but there are no lights on the main unit. No on/off light or anything else showing any sort of power. I have checked the trip switch which was fine and hadn't tripped and checked the fuses the only ones I found were 10 amp ones and they all seem okay.

Hi Barrie James, 10A fuses or cct breakers sounds like lights an air condition would draw more than 10 amps more like 15 Amps for power points .
what vehicle make and model number for van ?

Hi Brett, That's what I thought but I can't locate any other fuses. The caravan is a 2011 Crusader Inspiration.

Looking further into the unit, it seems to be hard wired into the van. I did locate a 20amp fuse inline from the battery but unsure if it has anything to do with the aircon, but it seems okay anyway.

How do I Hook two units together using one Dometic thermostat

A thermostat is basically just an on / off switch, which is variable due to temperature differences. You could wire in the Air Con control supply wires to each side of the switch as you would with 1 unit. If the controller is only switching low voltage for an electronic controller in the air con, there shouldn't be any problem. You should probably seek information direct from Dometic to ascertain if this is correct.

How do i repair my dometic air con unit on caravan

When you say safety switch do you mean fuse or breaker? If your breaker is popping(110 volt) then if probably is your compressor overloading the system.i would do as advised before and remove shroud(cover on roof) and clean coils or fins with some otc coil cleaner. Ive been in the buisness eight years and only one time have i change a compressor. Most people get a new ac. Sorry for the bad news

Air con dead

Larger split system air con gets power from the external unit while smaller air con gets power from the internal unit. Can you find any power switch or power socket/plug around the external or internal units?

Mazda b3000 2001 heater works after one hour of running

That means your engine is not heating up to working temperature or if it is the water hoses that go to the heat exchanger unit are clogged. Confirm that you engine coolant is heating up to working temperature. If not you might not have a thermostat in your cooling systrm. Insert one. If that does not solve the problem check water flow to air con.

Had a short power outage now the unit will not run. breaker ok and 234 volts to outside unit but inside unit will not come on. is there a reset or something

Try turning the unit off at thye meter box or the isolator switch out next to the outdoor unit of the air con. Leave off for 15 minutes and then switch back on again. Some Air cons get screwed up with power surges... Leaving off at the mains for a while often resets them. If the air con was running at the time the power went off, it may have damaged one of the electronic boards... Do you get any flashing lights or displays showing what could be an error code ??

We have a b3000 caravan air con (3 months old)which makes a really bad droaning noise when comp cuts in(ear plugs dont help)Also when the comp cuts in and out it shakes the van

You would have not removed packing bushes below the compressor. Remove it. And also Collar screws not over tighten. When compressor cut in and cut off, there will be jerking. To give flexibility for the shake. your collar screws must not be over tightened. Thanks.

I would like to know if my Honda 2kva generator will run my air con dometic roof top B3000

I dont think so as this will be too much for the generator which has only 2 KVA as capacity.
Though the rated power is 2 KVA it will be safe to use it only upto about 1.6KVA.
The AC will require a lot of current on start up than in running and so it might no be good to have it strained.

My domectic roof top air con is getting condensation on the plastic cover inside the van

Hi; Is the drain for the condensate draining. You will have to check the top unit to see if water is present. You can also check the air filter to see if it needs to be cleaned. Please only use a household cleaner and hot water on the filter screen. Also what is the inside temp. when You notice the sweating. If Your in a very humid climit some times the unit will sweat until it can remove excessive moisture from the inside space. Also does the tstat seem to be working normally and holding temp. ...alpharome416
