Hp Envy 4520 paper tray extender stuck closed.

I Believe it was broken by someone walking into it, and now it will not come out when printing. Should I try to force it out, or will that cause damage to the printer?? It is a Macintosh Catalina laptop.

HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer. Paper jam on HP Envy 7645 when no paper can be found?

Question edited for clarity and toss in some CAPS.

Open all the doors including the bypass door and remove the trays. Get a flashlight and look for a tiny piece of paper covering a sensor. Also try this for a false paper jam error state. Check the Auto document Feeder (ADF) as well, last video.

Reset the printer, which might clear a false paper jam error, and then try to print again.
  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer. note:

My HP Envy 4520 won't print color documents. I tried updating the printer driver and it didn't work. What can I do to fix the problem?

Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers. Right-click on Envy 4520 and select "Printing Preferences". Navigate to print quality / layout tab and make sure that the color printing option is selected. Save the settings and check for issue resolution.

How to output bin empty ?

  1. The output bin may be full. Empty the output bin. Printing resumes automatically.
  2. Take a close look at the flaps hanging out the exit of the printer. They should move up and down freely. If one of them is stuck up, broken or dislodged, then a bin full error is displayed.
  3. Open rear exit tray and power on the printer. If the printer comes to a Ready state, close rear tray and try printing.
  4. Clean the paper path below the toner area and exit assembly at the back of the printer. Ensure there is no pieces of paper stuck in the paper path of the printer.

I cannot put the paper all the way in the paper tray,hp envy 4500

I've never HAD nor FIXED your model, but have fixed other HPs with different problems before. Re: your hp envy 4500 model printer: I researched a little, finding this:
great product, January 12, 2014
Love the printer and it's performing great. I was thinking of giving this nice printer four 1/2 stars, because the direction should have emphasized more clearly that the paper holding tray must be pushed all the way back in to the printer not just the paper. So when you think the tray is all the way in give it another push. because one can not continue with any of the installations. It would not be fair to the product itself, to write negatively.
Found the above here: Page 4: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Envy-4500-Wireless-Printer/product-reviews/B00CIDQ470?pageNumber=4 or read more here about the paper tray:
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/HOW-TO-PULL-OUT-THE-PAPER-TRAY-ON-ENVY-e4500/td-p/3071717 It looks like the Paper Tray is persnickety on this model... Hope this leads you to a solution. {P.S. Recently when my almost 5 yr. old HP printer died-for good- I bought a "Brother" because I found they give you toll-free Tech Service "for the life of the printer"... and that's what I like!}

How do you manually feed legal paper into a HP laserjet 4 plus (model 2037A)? It only has a letter paper tray. I inherited it without a service manual

The LaserJet 4 plus I have worked with had a paper tray that was adjustable for letter or legal. If yours is not, there should be a door on the front of the printer that will pull down at the top, and is hinged on the bottom. Open the door, you will be able to extend the "paper tray" and put a small amount of legal sheets on it. Go to the menu and tell it to print to this paper tray, I believe it is paper tray one.

When I try to print on a 6x6 envelope on my hp envy 110 printer it tells me it is the wrong size paper. No where is there a setting for a 6x6

Print labels and envelopes

With the HP ENVY 110 series, you can print on a single envelope, a group of envelopes, or label sheets
designed for inkjet printers.

To print a group of addresses on labels or envelopes

1. Print a test page on plain paper first.
2. Place the test page on top of the label sheet or envelope, and hold both up to the light. Check the spacing for
each block of text. Make adjustments as needed.
3. Load the labels or envelopes into the paper tray.
CAUTION: Do not use envelopes with clasps or windows. They can get stuck in the rollers and cause
paper jams.
4. Slide paper-width guides inward against the stack of labels or envelopes until the guides stop.
5. Select the appropriate options.
• On -Paper/Quality- tab select a Plain paper type.
• Click the [Advanced] button, and select the appropriate envelope size from the Paper Size drop down
menu.
6. Click [OK], and then click [Print] or [OK] in the Print dialog box.

If you print from within a program that DOES have that listed (like M$ Word,) then you don't need the limited printer driver to specify the paper size.

What does error 60.03 mean?

This has to do with the paper lifter for tray three. There could be any number of problems with the lifter or tray;

1. incorrect paper size - i.e. someone loaded letter in the tray that is mannually set to legal and didn't change the manual paper slider to letter or papers stuck in the tray,

2. manual paper lifter isn't working properly, motor spring could be broken or out of place,

3. the paper tray could be broken and you will need to replace the tray.

First check that the correct size paper is loaded properly in the tray and that there is no paper detritis stuck anywhere. If the tray has the correct paper and there is not paper detritis then swap tray 2 and 3, reboot the printer and see if the problem moves with the tray - it should become a 60.02 error. If this happens then it is a tray issue. If you still get a 60.03 error then it is a tray 3 lifter motor issue, here is a link that explains what needs to be done.

A lot of the time there is a loud pronounced clicking or banging also associated with the problem. The noise happens during the paper pathway test shortly after you turn the printer on and will display the 60.xx error code instead of the ready status.
