No, the strap holds the battery against the positive contact. You could try a small piece of cut foam, or take it to a local jeweler. The keeps spares of such things.

The strap is metal, is it part of the electrical system (maybe the negative)?

  • ADMIN Andrew

No, the positive in normally downwards and is the pip in the centre of the battery and is raised a little. The negative is the side and the base, but the contact is normally a curved contact on the edge. It may be, but not normally.

Gucci 1100l watch battery replace

The back cover does not screw off. You'll need to pry it open where the narrow slots are next to the watch bands. See video J2KkDFXEEJ4 on youtube for how to do it.

You don't need that special tool, I used a pick hook tool from Harbor Freight #66836 to open it up and it worked fine.

To replace the battery, there are two very tiny flat head slotted screws that you need to loosen (don't need to remove them) to remove the battery hold down (carefully note how it goes in, the two sides of the hold down are different), then you can pop the battery out and replace it. It uses an AG1 or SR621SW or 364 battery, not the 379 battery someone mentioned above.

If the battery leaked you can use a q-tip dipped in white vinegar to clean the battery crud off, then use other side of q-tip dipped in iso alcohol to clean that up, then dry it with another q-tip.

To put the battery hold down back, first put the side that is U-shaped in first, then slip the other side under its screw. Tighten that one down, then tighten the other side down. Put cover back on and off you go!

I used the Harbor Freight #38896 magnifier (without the built in lights, used a better light) and it worked great. Those screws are really tiny and they are hard to see. You'll need a very, very small precision screwdriver for them.

Do you know what battery is inside please? I need to exchange it but I lost the old one.

Since you have the old one out, you must have removed the case back. Look to see if the battery type is marked on the inside cover of the case back. Hope this works for you. Otherwise, you might use Google to find the battery type

I changed the battery in my fossil watch and the cell strap got slightly bent and now the watch isnt working. Is there a certain part on the strap that needs to be touching either the battery or some other...

Generally if the watch has a cell strap then yes, it should be contacting the plate of the movement. Are you sure that you put it back the way it was? You should also be careful that the negative contact remains in a position to contact the bottom of the battery.

There are a few things that can go wrong with this battery change including the contacts and strap. You may have also scratched the coil and that would stop it from running. You will also not be able to reseal this watch and you chance it not being water resistant anymore and voiding your 12 year warranty. I suggest going to a watch maker/technician and asking them to take a look at your battery installation. Then ask them to change the rear seal and pressure test the watch to the water resistant rating on the watch. This particular model is rated to be a dive watch.

How to change battery in Casio wave ceptor4305

If there is no any screws holding that 'metal strap' then carefully check both ends of it. You will notice that the ends (or one end) are snaped over the little plastic hooks. Take pointed tweezers and push that end outwards (away from battery) and the contact (metal strap) will pop out.
After battery replacement, just push the contact back into place till it fixes.
If there are screws holding the contact, just undo them.
Be quick when replacing battery- you have 2 or 3 minutes to do that, otherwise all data will be lost and you will need to reset watch completely.

Triax CV10

Nike Triax CV10 - Successful HRM reset 7 November 2008

I had real problems too. Even after repeatedly following the known reset steps everyone else is posting up. Here’s how I got mine going, please forgive the mind bogglingly tedious detail…

First make sure you’re using new good quality batteries. I used Maxell’s, bought in 10’s from Hong Kong on ebay – no problem.

Second, and this is the ESSENTIAL bit…move right away from the computer and any other electromagnetic sources before carrying out the known reset…

Third, follow the known reset steps below, adjusted to what worked for me…

If you press all four buttons of your Nike HRM it will reset. Next time you go to "RUN" mode, it will show "HRM LINK" error. You will now need to "hard reset" the unit.

Nike made a late change to add a "hard reset" to the chest strap. To re-link (re-initialise) the watch you'll need to open the battery door on the chest strap, and use a paper clip (or the equivalent) to push the small gold button in the battery area. There should be a small sticker in the battery compartment that points to the reset button.

The re-initialisation steps for the Nike C10 and CV10 digital HRM's is:

(1) reset the watch
(2) open the battery door on the chest strap
(3) move the watch to RUN mode
(4) press the reset button in the chest strap battery area without removing the battery

Tip - I agree with the suggestion to use a pin or needle and definitely do it with the battery in the hrm.
Tip – Thumb holds battery to stop it from pinging out, other hand performs jiggle with pin until the link is made (it links straightaway if you jiggle it just right!)

(5) replace chest strap battery cover…and smile!

Can Link watch with Heart Monitor

If you can't link the hrm do as detailed in the following link If you press all four buttons of your Nike HRM it will reset. The re-initialisation steps for the Nike C10 and CV10 digital HRM's is: (1) reset the watch (2) open the battery door on the chest strap (3) move the watch to RUN mode (4) press the reset button in the chest strap battery area (5) put the battery back in the chest strap (if it's not already in - it's possible to push the button without removing the battery) (6) hold both of the electrode to create a signal (probably not necessary - it usually links immediately). My suggestion is to use a very thin needle and do it with the battery in the hrm. Eventually, Nike will either eliminate the hard reset or update the manual to include this info.
