Personally I would replace rather than throw money at the microwave.

I had a power surge in my house and my EMERSON 900W MICROWAVE OVEN MW8999RD control pad is not working. The lightbulb works and the tray spins slowly when I open the microwave door. However, nothing

I hope it's still under warranty. Think about getting a replacement, and about next time: Get a surge protection device between the oven and the wall plug! I have suffered from power surges in my house as well, and a surge protector is the only cure.

My Kenmore elite microwave is plugged into a surge protector and keep tripping the surge protector. I cannot use the microwave for more then a minute before it trips. Can you help

Your microwave is pulling more amps than the surge protector can handle. Remove the surge protector from the circuit and plug oven into wall outlet. Preferrably a GFCI circuit. Or you could puchase a surge protector with a higher amp tolerance.

Loud popping noise after being plugged into 50 amp power source possible power surge unit in rv unit light still works but no power to make unit work.

What happens a lot in these RV microwaves is that a surge will damage the circuit board and sometimes also blow the low voltage transformer.

These are problems we can usually take care of for $39.95 and $54.95 respectively.

Hello. My Panasonic NN-K153W microwave owen keypad does not responding, beside three keys- stop, clock and the one with symbol of microwave in the left upper corner. I can not setup the clock because no...

Other than a complete power off, I know of no reset switch on any microwave ovens. I own a panasonic myself.

I would leave it unplugged for a while, at least 15 minutes or so, and leave the door open, to turn on the inside light (which won't light if unplugged but) so it might discharge any capacitors holding residual power to the circuit.

If it wasn't power protected, it could have taken a hit.

If it is plugged into a surge protector, they wear out. You might be able to make a claim on it through the surge protector manufacturer, if it has a warranty, and you have receipt. Surge protectors do wear out, and most unless they're the cheapest, will have a warranty that covers equipment. The wear out because the varistor which provides the voltage clamping during a surge become conditioned. Initially they clamp around 150V to 180V, but as they age from repeated surges, their clamping voltage rises until it no longer protects the equipment. Often you can tell, if the surge protector LED is blinking or intermittent, the company will replace the surge device if you make a claim on the protector, if it fails while in use, they usually cover the equipment, unless the warranty has run out, but many give lifetime warranties.

The reason some keys may have been working is because after a small surge, the logic states can go indeterminate, which means some work, and some won't. If it's not damaged, a full power off for some time may restore it to initial conditions.

Hope this helps. They should build in surge protection, and I think mind does have some; but, if not, I hope it's in warranty for you.

Our sylvania microwave model sr11092b received a power surge that blew the internal fuse and would not run (it also fried the power converter in my rv)\r\nReplaced power converter, replaced internal fuse...

I had the EXACT same symptoms with my Sylvania SR1109sb after a power surge.
After some digging around I thought what the heck let me try holding down the Reset button and do a power off/on cycle and what do you know it worked !!!
Just pressing the Reset did nothing until the cycle off and on.

R-8350, No power to touchpad, but interior light works

The touchpad has its own fuse which has probably blown due to a surge perhaps related to the turning on of the fridge. Removing the cover from a microwave is potentially lethal due to the large capacitor to drive the magnetron. However, this is usually well away from the front panel. If you do venture in you should first unplug the unit and when the outer cover is removed, discharge the large capacitor with well insulated pliers -= otherwise keep well away from it. The fuse you are interested in is on the pc board behind the touchpad. Replace it with exactly the same fuse (usually a slow blow fuse).

Microwave not getting power

Unplug the microwave oven from the surge protector and plug it directly into a working outlet. If the microwave now works you will know that it is the surge protector that is not working. If the microwave still doesnt work you may want to trash it and just get a new one as they are now much cheaper, many around 50 dollars, and more efficiently use power.
