Washing machine over revs and trips breaker during spin cycle. UK
During the spin cycle, the machine will sound like it's spinning up even faster, followed shortly by the breaker tripping everything in the house. The lights, the sockets, everything.
After tripping there's a pungent electrical burning smell like Ozone.
We've had a tech around to check it, but they said they can't find anything wrong.

This tells me that you do not have an overload situation. There is a short, and/or one or more faulty breakers possibly including the main breaker.
Even an experienced DIY'er with electrical knowledge would probably contact an electrician at this point. If there is a potential problem with the main breaker then it is best to get professional help.
Sounds like corrosion in the motherboard . Get an electronics serviceman to take a look, could just need soldering point to point connection. Hope this helps.
try unplugging the motor then put onto spin it will pump out ok and run othewise spin if all else is fine ,next reconnect the motor if it trips again then motor ' fault; repair /replace.
If this sound starts slow and gets faster till its helicopter sounding you probly have a verry worn spot on the drive belt when that spot goes around the pully it will thump the faster ti spins the more frequent the sound If you tilt the washer back you should be able to see the belt to examine it if this the problem
replace the belt
Hope this helps

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping/or sound during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
