If you have nothing to loose, try disassembling the unit and check SMT fuses F1 and F2 (I just jumped mine out with some thin wire). Also if you turn on the DS and it shuts right back off (the screen backlight may flash breifly), try re-seating both LCD ribbon cables. Oh a warning, be very careful of the power switch when reassembling. if you put the case back together with the slide switch in the wrong position, you will break the power switch on the PCB. If you break it you can get one cheap (I keep extras around just in case I space out while reassembling a DS). If you need screens or other DS parts, try Dealextreme or Ebay.

If you have another nds lite try switching batterys if that dont work then its broke, sorry.

Ds lite is reading system date error

Known problem with the NDS Cards but here is a temporary fix:Take out the NDS cards and start up DS without them

Tap the symbol in the middle of the screen at the bottom that looks like a DS.
Tap the blue box with a calender and clock in.
Change the date a month or two back.
Restart DS with NDS cards in.

Even though this is temporary the people at NDS are working for a solution. But until then you might just have to keep putting the date back.

NDS lite has the power(green lite flashes), but screens wont lit

Hi,

When you switch the DS lite on you should notice that one of the screens flashes... if thats correct then the screen that doesn't flash is the one that will need replacing which, I would assume is the upper screen as judging by what you say has a damaged ribbon.

well one thing that can cause this is major damage in the charger or the ds lite

MY NDS lite wont read DS games but will read

there might be something wrong with the card reader. Or something wrong with your card. Try cleaning them with something (not a tissue, that will make it worse). If that doesn't work, it's probably something wrong with the internal wiring and such, so there's not too much you can do about it

I bought a ra(ndsl/nds ) for my ds lite and

Mine works fine!!
Download English 1.18 from the R4 website.
Unzip
You should have 4 files on your card
_system_
moonshell
_DS_MENU_DAT
_DS_MSH_NDS
you then add the .nds game files from wherever you get them from
Make sure the card is formatted first, ie there are no other files on it. try FAT. rather than FAT 32. I can't remember which but I've had no problems with either the card or the software, best thing since sliced bread, and it only cost me a tenner.

The problem is that your son dropped it. This damages both the inside and outside of the DS. I would suggest contacting your nearest video game store to see if they can fix it.
