The digital tuner on my Olevia LT37HVS LCD TV freezes sometimes. When it does, you can't change channels, adjust the volume or even shut it off short of unplugging it. All of the other A/V inputs work just fine. Olevia suggested unplugging it for 30 minutes to reset it and also to check the outlet grounding. Resetting it didn't help and the outlet grounding checked out fine. Any suggestions?

Tune the tv to a channel that is just blue screen. Then turn the tv off and unplug for at least 30 sec. Then plug the tv back in and turn it on. Then leave the tv on the blank screen channel go into the menu and do auto cable channel search. After the search is complete try all channels. This worked for me. My tv will not scan if the tv is on a channel that comes in. GOOD LUCK these tv's are junk .

How do i get local digital channels

You can still have a problem after you have set the TV to scan for local digital channels (see instructions). You may still need a suitable aerial, good coax cable from there to the TV (you have to use quad shield RG6 cable), and maybe even a digital TV signal amplifier.

No tuner signal

Unplug the set and a box if used and then after a short wait plug both up to allow both to reboot.

If using the coax fitting on set you can with a box connect to rear inputs and bypass the problem= ie if the rear jacks work with a DVD etc.

Olevia TV will not change channels using the remote or buttons

Do a reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Olevia 237 with satellite dish

I purchased a universal remote URC-R6 from Best Buy that someone else had said worked for them. With a little work, I have programmed it to take the place of both my remotes. Seems to be working fine!

You should verify that you are not just simply losing reception from a fault in the antenna.

If the signal is okay from the antenna, it is possible that the TV is having a failure in its tuner or IF sectons just to mention a starting point.
