The vertical lines disappear, and picture appears normal after a varying number of minutes, typically 3-5 minutes. I suspect the TCON is the issue but am unsure how to get access to the TCON on this TV model. I opened up the TV and what appears to be the TCON board is covered by a metal plate. I cannot see a TCON model number and suspect I need to remove the plate to see the model number. There appears to be LDVS cable passing through the top of the plate which would need to be disconnected to remove the plate. However, at the bottom, there are also several flat cables with a connector I don't recognize also passing through the plate that could need to be disconnected to remove the plate. I looking for suggestions on accessing the TCON.
Save you time and money on a tcon board. Chances are it's not defective, you have a bad panel, this has been a common issue on this model TV, will be intermittent with horizontal lines, unfortunately it'd not fixable. You can take the frame off and try moving around the connectors going from the panel board to the panel and see if that makes it have the horizontal issues, sometimes some glue can be applied for a temp fix.
