There is no mechanical defrost timer in this particular model. You will have to run diagnostics on this. Its can be either the jazz board pt# WPW10464769 or the defrost thermostat/bimetal pt# 12001937.
I reccomend running diagnostics first.
To start with we need to start the refrigerator's diagnostic mode. To do this open the refrigerator door and press one or both door switches, depending on your refrigerator type. Next press the refrigerator temperature (+) button three times in ten seconds and release the light switch or switches. This should display an "S" in the freezer display and an "E" in the refrigerator display. Then press the refrigerator temperature (+) button one time to confirm that you want the service mode. You will then see a set of numbers displayed showing the software version for three seconds. (Again this control board is used on many different refrigerators.) After the software version is shown the freezer display should show "1" and the refrigerator display should be blank. Congratulations! Pat yourself on the back, you are now ready to do refrigerator diagnostic magic! Within the refrigerator diagnostic test mode there are 6 diagnostic tests:
1Defrost Thermostat DiagnosticsRefrigerator 2Compressor & Condenser Fan DiagnosticsFreezer 3Evaporator Fan DiagnosticsRefrigerator Sensor 4DiagnosticsFreezer Sensor DiagnosticsRefrigerator 5Damper Door Diagnostics
You can select the test number you would like to run by pressing the freezer temperature (+) or(-) button until the test number you want is in the freezer display. Then using the refrigerator(+) button to cycle the test on and off.
Following is the instruction for adjusting the freeser temperature for your Samsung refrigerator:
You press the freezer temperature button repeatedly till you see your desired temperature. If you want to set it to -2F, stop when the display shows -2F and don't press the freezer button again. After 5 seconds this new temperature will be set.
The instructions from the Samsung manual is shown below:
Controlling the Freezer temperature:
The Freezer temperature can be set between 8°F and -14°F to suit your particular needs. Press the Freezer button repeatedly until the desired temperature is shown in the temperature display. Keep in mind that foods like ice cream may melt at 4°F. The temperature display will move sequentially from -14°F to 8°F. When the display reaches 8°F, it will begin again at -14°F. Five seconds after the new temperature is set, the display will again show the actual current freezer temperature. However, this value will be changed to the new temperature.
sounds to me that you have either a sensor problem or a main board issue. to avoid spend money and the intricasies of trouble shooting, call for service. Sears has a Service Smart Agreement that is reasonable and would cover needed repair up to 500.00
The control board of your refrigerator and freezer must be check and replace if found to be defective. You already did the remedy with a short success and trouble is back again. As you know the control board has a micro-controller on its electronic board. To be able to function it well, the temperature control and thermostat must be good, including the system refrigerant must be on the right charge of freon. Once all of that is functioning well, the problem is really on electronic control board. Thanks for asking.
guess what / your right / have a chat with the co that sold it to you . I d let the woof out of the freezer and then it would weigh less and the drawer would slide easly . problem over .. , not quite . this is a quality product and you should expect it to be . draw's should be smothe ect . look for damage to outside and frame if found have them replace it . mm
I was looking up another issue and found your problem. If the read out says 00 then it's in service mode. Unplug and plug it back in. You don't need to wait long. You can go to the GE site and download a PDF of the manual, but it's a joke for trouble shooting.
it means that the motor fan inside freezer the sends air to the ice maker is not communicating with mother board you have no ice right then you need either the motor fan or main board if you dont know howto trouble shoot you need a tech to come out
