It seems to have something to do with the ambient temperature of the sewing machine (the motherboard). Once on you can turn it off and on and the machine will continue to turn on. The machine continues to function well. It appears that there is a component or connection in the electrical circuit that has a temperature problem. If I had a service manual (circuit diagram), I can take measurements and analyze what the problem is. Could you help me with a service manual?
Does yours have batteries like this one. It does, Page 26 of the manual. The machine is computer operated so there has to be a short warm up period. It shouldn't be turn on and off on its own though. I would check the switch operation with a test meter and check all the connections on the motherboard.

Service manuals are hard to come by. This is the only Pfaff I can find.
