Does anyone have a circuit diagram for a Trip Lite APSX3024SW inverter/charger?:

Having read that the problem is with the unit, as it is not with external components, I would like to repair it.

It sound like unit is in inverter mode. You should read user manual because those chargers/inverters could be very difficult to setup right

make sure your new inverter is made for 220 volt supply as that is what the red wire represents. its the other leg of a 220 circuit and should not be connected to your new inverter until you read the manual to see if it is designed for this and if so how to wire it in. it could cause you are the unit serious harm if you connect a 110 inverter to a 220 circuit. consult an rv repair shop or a good electrition if you cant find the needed info. it may actually be printed on the side of the inverter as well.

Our Inverter works but the battery charger seems to trip out everytime we try to charge the batteries.

There is no way to guess what the problem is, we technicians use a multimeter to look at the electrical circuit values to determine the problem. The charging circuit could be bad, or the batteries could be shorted.

Burnt out

internal failure possibly on power side, lower than 300A fault current so unit could not trip i/p protection and as fault was post ac section, continued to burn internally.
it just broke
no breakers tripped out so it kept drawing current until the fault burnt away.

maybe this is what happened, need to know a lot more info to change hypothisis
