You don't need to install a router on a PC. The wireless card or ethernet cable should talk to the router.

SOURCE: Dir-655 works with XP and Mac which can connect

Go to 192.168.0.1 and login. Then go for the 'Setup' tab on the top and look for the 'Wireless Settings' tab on the right.
You can now automaticly setup your WLAN connection and afterwards you can go to the 'Manual Wireless Network Setup'. Over there you can change the 802.11 mode.

  • 802.11b only
  • 802.11g only
  • 802.11n only
  • Mixed 802.11g and 802.11b
  • Mixed 802.11ng and 802.11g
  • Mixed 802.11n, 802.11g and 802.11b

Go for the last one that uses n,g and b and you will be sure your computer can connect :)
Good luck!

Lost installation cd for d link DIR 300 wireless G router

Most routers don't require discs and the disc usually contains mere documentation for configuration and help. Routers are usually plug-and-play type devices but if you're definitely wanting some type of program or information. You can visit the below link for your router.

http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=474&sec=0#applications

You'll need to specify by clicking the "Click Here" based on the revision of your router (A, B, or D). Once you've selected a revision, you'll be able to download the application and firmware updates for your router.
