Thermador CM302 double oven - no power after possible short circuit to display board - how to diagnose?

check voltage from transformer to board if ok possible bad display board

if you can set it, regardless of "seeing it" then the display board is bad and will have to be replaced or rebuilt.

upper oven fan airflow switch not activated. It may be stuck or the fan isn't running at all.

overheat situation. check oven sensor and soldered pin points for sensor wires at relay board. Resolder if needed.

This is either a fault with the timer, or you have a fault with the thermostat. Get a multimeter onto that thermostat and test it, after removing the heating element of course. Then get back in touch with me and I will give you the fix.

HI. During the power outage, there may have been a power surge. This has shorted your main control board. This E-10 is indicating that this is the issue. This code represents a failed control board. It must be replaced, in this case. Once replaced, the unit will return to its normal operating status.

I have the same oven and the same exact problem. The problem is with the magnetron. It needs to be replaced.

I solved this. Its a vaccum flourescent display. The voltages that drive it are reducing because the capacitors on the control board deteriorate with temperature. Replace the 3 capacitors and its good as new.mine still working after 2 years...$.20 at radio shack...or have a repair place do it for you...saves $250 for a new board

there is a dispay kit you can order from bosch to fix this problem. it will come with a new display board and power control which is located behind control panel as well

Have 2 Thermador ovens, SMW272 and SC302. Both have display failure. Just repaired one with replacement display. It did not require a new control unit or harness. Have not opened up second unit yet as display is still dimly/slightly visible.

Called Thermador and received no offer of replacement parts or service. Numerous other web reports of similar failures. My neighbor has 2 dead ovens also unfixed because of outrageous repair estimates ($600 each). Do not recommend this brand.

Full kit including display, control, and harness ordered on Ebay for $170.
