Good day!Try install back the driver components of this Device or update the software,try to see if the conflict is in your OS or on the Hardware.

If you were in Record mode and forgot to press stop it will loop continuously until you do.Try holding Pattern/Song and press Play to see if it will play the demo song. What does the display LCD say? Are you stuck in System Setup mode?Are you stuck in Record Setup mode? If the record button is not flashing you are not in Record mode.Have a look at page 15 in the manual and see if it will go into Pattern mode. I forgot to ask you if you have a manual. If not you can download one here:http://www.akaipro.com/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/1163/tt/5 The reason I asked you about the footswitch is that when you power up the XR20 checks the footswitch jack to see what kind of footswitch you are using. The manual unfortunately doesn't mention what would happen if the jack failed. This can happen sometimes when a cord plugged into a jack gets kicked. The solder joint between the circuit board and the jack fails rendering the jack non functional. I also didn't ask you if you are using batteries or the correct power supply. Try describing to me what the display says. Let me know if any of this helped.

We own a small TV repair shop in Ohio and have ran into similar problems with this TV.

To fix this problem we replaced 3 caps near and in the powersuppy of the TV.

This TV is very sensitive to electrical problems ( more then most if that's possible) so check the caps near the PSU.

Over all this TV is a fairly decent product.
