Question about Computers & Internet

My Seiki SE50FYT TV shuts off after 40 seconds.

It worked perfectly until yesterday. Then after it boots, it runs for about 35-40 seconds and shuts off. Even if repeatedly turning it on it follows this pattern. Any suggestions?

sure, why not asssume its overheats first (no spare part needed here)
and blow it out , all vents and dust there and inside all dust blown out
so it can stay cool and not overheat and shut down,
or get it serviced in a , (Drum roll) TV repair shop.

Seems to be a power issue.
-Overheating
-Short some where in the circuit
-Outlet Issue

Would advice the get a Tech so check/follow the power & check outlets.

TV screen goes blank just after switching on; volume stays on. After examining circuit boards, discovered immediately selecting menu then reset to default my screen operates perfectly until off.

It sounds to me that it is possibly in another mode ie. PC, HDMI, etc. and when reset to default goes to tv, but once turned off, goes back to the other mode. I would suggest going to menu and instead of going to default, go to TV and set it for that mode. You may have to do this very quickly upon startup before it goes to another mode.

No sound on tv seiki 40 in

Hello

Sometimes, someone accidentally turns off the sound - check your settings and if you have external speakers, unplug them, switch off your TV and unplug everything, wait for 10 seconds and then plug it back in and restart it to check if this makes a difference; try some external speakers as well if they are available to you. Still nothing, call the manufacturer's helpline.

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp.
