Hello, I am trying to gain access to the power socket which is giving an intermittent connection, ( the printer looks like a very small toaster), I have managed to get the top and the front off, I am a bit stuck now. I cant get the rear door off because it is hampered by the sheet feed mechanism, there is a pcb on top which is almost free, but I am stuck. Has anyone managed to get one of these apart? Thanks for any help in advance.

Could have a corrupt driver. Disconnect
the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do
both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer
to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud
I took mine apart today, there's a silver cover on the left that needs to come off to access the final screw, and I can see of no way of separating the two halves, as there's a tab that protrudes down from the cover which connects with the bottom half. I ended up levering it off. This gives access to the panel and button circuit that unclips and unplugs, then undo the last screw, then there is a clip that needs to be held back to get the top cover off.
Talked to HP tech support today- the "Tech" said these errors are "internal hardware issues". Since HP has "no service locations for printers"- The only solution is.... TO BUY A NEW PRINTER! (of course $$$) Why did we not think of that!
Depress the latch and remove the door. This will give you easy access to the rollers and should give you enough space to remove any remaining paper from the jam.
