My 2009 Mercedes 350 screen is not working on The instrument cluster but the lights work on the screen
Gauges are working but I get nothing on the two screens. I can dim the lights and bring up the lights on the screen but no info. What could this possibly be?
step 1 is check the fuses/ no electronics works with dead power, so is 1st always. power is king, not data or controls. power is first.post to cars, not computers

Make sure your ignition switch is working first (does everything light up and working with the key in "ON" position) then try ACC position, does the radio work? If all that checks out then it would be the stepper motors on the instrument cluster are bad, there are several repair kits available pretty cheap since they are a common problem
not 100 % sure but some of the gauges on the mini vans go through body module. scan it and see if there any codes logged before you change anything else.
The instrument cluster in this model is really a computer, it has likely failed. Pull the cluster out and make sure the connectors are tight and the ground and battery + circuits are all working, if they are then send it out for repair to a local GM electronics repair shop, ask the local GM dealer for the one he uses for such repairs.
remove the cluster(should be able to insert Small flat head screwdrivers into slots on plastic trim of cluster. Lower your steering wheel down and remove key. wait approx 30 seconds until cluster is off( means that the interior c.a.n. has went to sleep) unplug cluster and see if the bulbs you wish to replace are accessible from the rear cover. if not remove retaining screws and un clip rear cover from housing. You should have access to the back lighting bulbs
hello, good day, maybe your cluster nearly damage, send to your dealer, they have a testing procedure(simulation all the gauges), to determine if your cluster is defective,ty
The instrument cluster operates independantly of the lighting for them. You could possibly have a fuse somewhere that has blown causing all gauges to stop, or it could potentially be that the cluster itself is bad and needs replaced or this could be a sign of a wireing harness failure of the instrument cluster. I'm afraid your best bet is to take it in and have it looked at by someone trained in dealing with those parts of the system.
