I have a Insignia Plasma tv model NS-42P650A11 it is not getting any channels now. Worked then the other day it stopped having any channels, I've unhooked everything for awhile then rehooked everything...

First, I'm not a Insignia representative.
* Check your warranty. call for support.

*** Following for information only.***
* No signal means no usable signal for a specific input on the TV or monitor. Check your cable box. Contact your cable service provider.
* If it's just a monitor and not a multi-function TV that also has a Computer to video input then you need to check the device that's hooked up to the monitor as single function monitor's usually only have one input.
* If this is a TV then you need to go to the TV menu and check the "Input Source" to make sure it's on the input plug your using. (I'm using HDMi-2 on my laptop to TV)
* If it's not on the correct input then there will be a different signal (DVD, VCR, etc.) or none at all (No Signal) if those units are turned off.
* Unplug all devices (to reset) and count to 10. Power up and perform set up to your existing configuration.
* Note; as of Jan 2018 most cable TV are not broadcasting in analog (chan 3) and must use a digital tuner to get signal. Some cable Co. provide converters (for a fee?)
* Check with your service provider for more information.

PS, If you do have a damaged input (or feed) then check your video device for alternative outputs; IE: RCA Vid-Right-Left audio, HDMI, Split video (Y-G-B), VGA, S-plug, etc.

* This your model?; https://www.cnet.com/products/insignia-ns-42p650a11/specs/
* I notice there is no cable input. Try switching to another of inputs;
2 x HDMI input - rear
Composite video input - rear
S-Video input - rear
2 x component video input - rear
Audio line-out
VGA input - rear
2 x audio line-in - rear
Digital audio output (optical)

Bought sony bravia 32nx500 And i tried many hdmi. But whenever i connect my chromecast on any hdmi port it says "unsupported signal. Check your device output." Tried everything but still strugling..

Hi Tejinder,

There is a lot of variation in the HDMI cables available in the market. I also faced the same problem with an LG LCD and a Sony play station. I had an HDMI cord which I got with the HDMI converter fro the US, solved the problem. The other cords are working fine with the HDMI converter. I hope it helps.

Good Luck.

46 inch Sony Bravia TV is 5 years old. HDMI ports 1,4 work fine but 2,3 don't.

I presume you've checked that the HDMI cables are good, and that the signal sources (e.g., blu-ray player, Roku, etc.) are working correctly. If the HDMI ports are individually selected by four buttons on your Sony remote, which is unlikely, it's possibly a problem in that remote. It's also possible that ports 2 and 3 are physically damaged by abuse. If you have ruled out all of those potential causes, this is almost certainly a problem in the way the defective ports are attached to the underlying printed circuit board inside the TV, or a flaw in that PCB. Too bad it's out of warranty. Repairing this will be a hassle if it can be done at all, and probably not cost effective. Instead, I suggest three possible workarounds for your consideration.

First, if you can find another way to get the signals into your TV, such as using the component inputs instead of HDMI, that will your cheapest and easiest alternative. This will only be doable if the signal source offers other types of outputs besides HDMI. Note that I am NOT suggesting adding any type of signal converter, just a different way of connecting the signal source to the TV.

A second alternative is to buy a multi-port HDMI switch with a remote control which you can find for less than $30 at online retailers like ebay. Plug that switch into one of your two good HDMI ports, and connect your unserved signal sources to the switch. It will be slightly less convenient to use the multi-port switch because you will need to operate one more remote control than you do now.

The third possible workaround is to buy an autosensing HDMI switch instead of the multi-port type, which would eliminate the need for the extra remote. However, an autosensing switch must have only one signal source active at any given time. This may not be possible if one of your signal sources is a streaming device that is continuously powered up. Good luck!

Turn on TV plug in HDMI.to all HDMI sources.plug-in all component sources.plug-in all coaxial as other known as cable or antenna.TV shows no video front or video source

Check your input if it is on tv/antenna or pc or hdmi. If it is on the correct one then check in your menu under display and see if it is set to cable or antenna then do a channel search

I own a Sony kdf-55e2000 , when I try to hook up a ps3 through the hdmi imputs i get a message reading "unsupported signal please check device output" i can here the sound but no picture. Is there any

try only having the hdmi cable hooked up to ps3 and tv, turn off ps3 and hold power button for 5 or 10 seconds and you should hear 3 beeps, this should reset the ps3 and detect the settings, if this doesnt work you mmay have to manually change audio and video settings in the ps3 settings menu to hdmi output and auto detect which settings work.

Why my hdmi cable keeps saying unsupported signal. check your device output

use a normal cable to connect to you tv and check the resolution that the hdmi is trying to output. if it wont display with the normal one then you will have to reset the video output system.

make sure your hook-ups are connected correctly and if so could be a high def setting or componet setting inside you system.

My 42 in hisense plasma will say no signal when i try to use any of the 2 hd sources on it???????????????????????????????

Make sure you set the Source to output at 720p or 576p to start with, once you have the signal on the screen, then change the output source to find the modes your TV supports.

A further note, HDMI uses a protocol call HDCP for copy protection, if you are using a HDCP enable device, your TV will not get a signal as the TV will not have given the correct HDCP code to the device.

So, if all else fails after the above, and you are using a HDMI - DVI connector, try a different source unit.

Incompatible video signal check the output device setting playstation 3

remember that most dvd/surround sound systems do not support picture mode through some inputs (just audio), you should check your manual as it is usually in the small print.
