Try cleaning the reading module with Isopropyl alcohol. Dont use any solvent. Gently press the scanning module to see if there is enough spring action.
Hi, Did you try to clean beneath the copy glass? On digital machines, when the copy glass or optics are dirty, copy becomes verry light.
How many copies do you have? pres 123 button. It also could be that you need to change the toner station, by the book it goes 300000 copies. But I bet on dirty copy glass and dirty scanner assy.Clean the glass with glass cleaner and polish it with dry cloth.
If you place and orginal on the large glass and may a copy does the strip dissapear? If not it could be cleaning blade drum fuser unit? If the strip does leave then you have a problem with the docfeeder glass small long glass next to the big glass. Clean it!
Use a flashlight and look closely at the narrow glass next to the platen glass. I usually find a spot of white out on the glass causing the streak. Also a dark spot on the white guide above the glass will cause a streak like you mentioned.
Do the lines appear when you place a blank piece of paper on the glass and make a copy??If not then you need to thoroughly clean the **** glass, that is the separate narrow glass to the left of the machine when the top is up.Even a tiny dot of dust will appear as a vertival line on the copy.
