I have a Miele G843SCVI Plus and am experiencing an unique draining issue. The problem seems to be different than other peoples complaining. I've tried to clean it as instructed by the manual and manu online tips. When I gave it a try, my dishwasher still flashed the Intake/Drain light and water still wouldn't be drained. However, there's one thing that makes my situation different: If I turn off the dishwasher, then turn it back on and start a new cleaning cycle I used the Rinse & Hold cycle to test, FYI, the water accumulated will immediately be drained. Because my drain line is hooked up to a garbage disposal, I could see water coming out from the drain line right away. Unfortunately, once those water is drained, and new water starts to enter the dishwasher and accumulate, the Intake/Drain light will flash and water wouldn't be drained again. I can repeat this cycle on and on. Since the water can indeed be drained, my gut feeling is that the problem is not related to any mechanical draining parts ie, the motor, the drain pump, etc. But I have no idea what the actual problem is.
Anytime a cycle is interrupted and a new cycle is selected, the dishwasher will start by draining water first. This is so any water that was accidentally spilled while loading the dishwasher is drained or in your case, water that was left over from the last cycle. When draining problems occur, the dishwasher will drain some water but not all. The timer only allows about 60 seconds for water to discharge. It will not accommodate for a clog.
The most common reason why a dishwasher wont completely drain water is a clog at the end of the discharge hose where the disposal and hose meet. If this should happen, clear the clog and replace entire
hose. A clog can happen inside the dishwasher as well.
Testimonial: "The problem is, if it is a clog, water wouldn't come out AT ALL. As I said in my post, water did get drained out to the garbage disposal (FYI, I cleaned the area where the disposal and the hose meet, too). I also cleaned everything that is supposed to be cleaned inside the dishwasher (the drain pump, the filter, all the openings). Once again, water does get drained out of the dishwasher when a new cycle starts, so it is unlikely a clog."
Hi
First
check if the drain hose is not clogged and try to clean it as it can be that
the hose is clogged and the water is not draining properly. After that check if
the drain pump filter is fine and not clogged, try to clean that as well. After
this check the metal filter, impeller cover and the air gap unit. After checking this you can
reset the error as follows: turn the rotary selector switch to "Stop/End" or
press the "Start/Stop" switch for approx. 5 secs. Then switch the
appliance off and then back on again. Hope
this helps...please post back for further assistance.
