H4 indicates "low temperature", possibly caused by a failure of the heater lamp or fuser. Sometimes this error is shown without an actual damage when the power cord is pulled without shutting down the copier first.
To cancel the error code, press [CLEAR], [AUTO], [CLEAR], [AUTO] in rapid succession. The display should go blank. Next, select 14 (clear low temperature code), press [START]. Finally, switch off and on the machine.
If there was no actual damage (i.e. power cord pulled), the machine should be OK again. If the error persists, immediately or after short time of operation, you will need to contact Sharp technical service for repair.
Try resetting it by the pressing the following buttons on the display in sequence,
#, interrupt, Clear, interrupt,
display should go dead,
enter 14,
then press print, This will clear the error code press CA to get out and return to normal. However if there is still a problem with the fuser, the code will return. Then you may need to have a tech look at what is the problem. Hope that helps...
WHEN THE SHARP AR-5316 PHOTOCOPIER IS SWITCHED ON THE ERROR CODE 4H APPEARSAND THE MACHINE CANNOT BE OPERATED. IHAVE TRIED THE SOLUTION SUGGESTED JUNE THIS YEAR BUT IT DID NOT WORK. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THE MACHINE TO WORK? IT IS VERY URGENT.
