Question about Panasonic Microwave Ovens
This happened when we had a power cut, there is no reason to think there is anything wrong with the microwave other than this. it was working perfectly prior to the power cut. How do I reset it? I have tried unplugging it for 10 minutes but no change.
You cannot repair this yourself, replace it. google Panasonic nn-cf7788s error code h98 for more info.

As I understand it could have been triggered by low voltage, but as the voltage has now been restored it should be possible to allow the software to be reset so it can "try again"? I do know that if it then still shows h98 it has to be replaced. Googling the error code shows how to do this for other models, but not the nn-cf7788s
You can plug it back in , the unit probably will still have same problem, the problem is components, not software.
You can watch this video, but be aware the the price of test equipment will far exceed the price of new microwave in addition of being dangerous. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMnYeNfo...

This oven is
programmed with a self diagnostics failure code system which will
help for troubleshooting, H97, H98 and H99 are the provided failure
magnetron and inverter circuit problem areas. This section explains
failure codes of H97, H98 and H99. H97, H98 and H99 appears in
display window a short time after start key is pressed and there is
no microwave oscillation.
There is not a lot the layman can do except maybe to try a new magnetron.
It is a job for an experienced Panasonic Microwave repair man.
