My Dyson CR01 washing machine inner door plastic handle has broken, with the door locked. How do I open it? Thank you in advance!
The handle came off in my hand when I went to open the door. The small plastic hooks on the handle that would release the door have broken off. I can't see how to open the door - will I have to take the whole machine apart?
Re: My Dyson CR01 washing machine inner door plastic...
You bought a washing machine from a company that makes vacuum cleaners :>D
Dyson is not the company it used to be. I am very disillusioned by them.
Drill a 1/8" hole carefully into the plastic, insert a nail or screw in a screw and use the nail/screw as a new metal handle.
Or you could phone Dyson and have an interesting conversation with their support staff (the ones that told me my Dyson DC12 was no longer supported and was scrap).
Why was the Dyson washing machine discontinued?
Dyson's products didn't always prove a success, however. For instance the CR01 washing machine (a machine which mimicked the actions of hand washing with two contra-rotating drums) ended up being discontinued because its production cost the company too much. Mar. 12, 2013
My advice, get a crowbar and lever the door open, get your clothes out and buy a Whirlpool. Love mine and 100% reliable after 12 years. Good luck with whatever you decide.

An F4 fault code means 'inner door opening'. Unfortunately since 31st December 2012, we have been unable to support CR01 and CR02 washing machines with spare parts or servicing. if it is actually filling but can't detect it its usually a plastic reducer with a small pipe connected that snaps, its right behind the inner door hinge on the outside of the drum and requires the front of the machine removing to get to it, though you can check it with a torch by prying the drum to the right from the front and looking down the side of the hinge for a loose small rubber pipe
YES!!! Samething happened to me!!!
I haven't fixed it yet BUT I know how to get in~You have to take the handle off...completely. May have to break the plastic...
You'll need 2 flat head screwdrivers.
You have to push the metaal part that would have been attached to the plastic handle and then pull the door out where it meets with the machine. Like where the grey inner seal is. Be gentle but firm handed. Think push with one driver~pull out with the other. Be patient as it will be fustrating the first time.
Good luch tho!!!

hiya easiest way to open is = first unplug power! then turn off water hoses to machine then draw machine out to gain access to pipe connections on rear and disconnect them ? now remove rear panel top screws as these also secure the top panel at rear then lift rear of top panel and pull to rear the panel now can be removed ? you now have access to the latch on front panel inside? if you reach down you can flick latch /hook clear to open door ? at this point after removing washing? you can observe the door inner remove inner panel that surrounds/secures glass? then you can observe how the door handle/lock assy is secured ? easy diy you can browse yellow pages for the replacement handle assy? machine repairs/spares reassembly is reverse to above wish you well this is a common occurance and should not have prob obtaining parts for the MAKE/MODEL NUMBER ? when enquiring for parts best wishes
open both doors, on inside of inner door are 2 brass screws, remove these and pull handle off, to replace just squeeze locking mechanism through same hole and replace 2 screws .easy.
