Question about Konica Minolta magicolor 2430 DL Laser Printer
My Konica Minolta Magicolor 2430 DL is printing smudges on both the left and right side of the paper. It is only one smudge in each side. It only prints on the first page or single sheets. If I print 20 pages, on the first page has the smudges. If I print a single page only, the single page will always print with the smudges. I am not able to find what is producing the smudges. I've cleaned everything I can think of or get to. I have replaced all toner cartridges but I must be missing something. Any suggestions?

If it is outside the print area, it sounds like the cartridge has a leak. It is sweeping the print area but doesn't reach the edges. Have you tried with a new OEM toner cartridge? At least it is small enough to take into a Service Centre.
I am sorry, I am just now seeing this. I am still having the problem. I've only used OEM toners in this printer and I have replaced which didn't solve the problem. It would probably cost more to service it than the printer is worth. It's weird that it is only on the first page. I have attached a picture. It looks like the rollers is the cause, but it's always only on the first page of any printed document(s). I am just puzzled by what could be causing this issue. Also, sometimes after it does a calibration, it clears up until it calibrates the next time.

The three upper marks (left, right and centre) are from the pick up rollers. The bottom shadowing would suggest the developer drum is not being cleaned properly. Service is generally about $150, and I bet you have more than that invested in Toner.
Thank you for responding. I wish I had upload a higher resolution image. There isn't any shadowing on the bottom. This is a shipping label sheet with one of the labels removed. This is what is causing the shadow below.
Sorry about that. I have cleaned the pickup rollers. If this was the problem, would it not print on every sheet? It only prints on the first page regardless of how many pages are in the document. Also, sometimes when the printer self calibrates, the problem goes away until it calibrates again. Weird. The problem is not "big" enough for me to take it in for service. I can get the OEM toner pretty cheap on ebay sometimes. Once I've gotten it as low as $6.00 a cartridge. That was luck. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate your input.
