Question about Insignia 32" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
No matter what setting I put my Sansung LCD HDTV on, some shows don't fit the screen. For example, I was watching an HD football game, in the 4:3 mode it was a square picture with major wide black on both sides, and in every setting I either had black on the sides or on the top, there was one setting where the picture filled the screen, however, once they showed the score I realized the top part of the screen where the score info was had been cut off, so I arrowed down (which is the Samsung feature to help a picture fit, I guess) anyway, then once I had it to where I could see the top of the picture with the score, then it cut off the bottom where they run the "ticker tape" information. I cannot find any setting to where the whole picture shows, unless I have empty black space. Everyone else in my family has plasma and LCD tvs and they do not experience this problem. This is the first time we have had an HDTV. I get my programming through Dishnetwork and have the package which include HD programming. Can anyone tell me what to do so my picture fills the screen but doesn't cut anything off? We did not buy the cheapest model, and in fact, my nephew bought the cheaper model Samsung, but Plasma, and he does not experience this problem at all.
After searching around on both remotes for me...im with verizon. Using my verizon remote under... settings-video settings-sd override...then into stretch mode fixes problem! Hope this helps anyone else with same problem!

You have to set your TV Ratio and TV Resolution on both your Cable box and your TV..the new smart LED Tv's automatically do it for you. at least mine did

I know this post is old, but did you ever find a solution? I'm having this exact same problem with the exact same t.v. I've done everything recommended but parts of the screen are still off the t.v. Entire characters, words, scenery... I need help!!!

You should adjust the aspect ratio on your cable box. Depending on your cable company there should be an aspect/HD zoom button. If this does not work go into the TV settings using the "menu" button and try to find a reference to aspect. Make sure it's set to 16:9 normal vs. stretch. You can contact Total COntrol Remotes (www.totalcontrolremotes.com) for help with this kind of issue.
