How to solve simple tech 160GB EXTERNAL USB HARD DRIVE

I was having a problem on Windows 7 with the SimpleTech 160GB drive not being recognized, went to the SimpleTech site and could not find any drivers - Went to MajorGeeks and found a driver update program - watch when you install it, do custom install so as not to get new homepage or toolbar. But it scanned and found where my drivers were deficient. Updated driver and drive is now recognized

How to put songs on The Simpletech Drive?

Just plug the Simpletech in the old computer that has the songs on it. Your computer will recognize the Simpletech drive. You can copy (from your old computer) and paste your songs to the Simpletech drive. Maybe all the songs you want will be in your My Music folder under My Documents. If so, you can just copy the whole My Music folder to the Simpletech.

Once you have the songs on the Simpletech, you can now plug it into the new computer. You can copy an paste from the Simpletech to your My Music Folder on the new computer.

You can also use the drag and drop instead of copy and paste.

I have a lot of music that I've copied to my Simpletech 160GB device, but my imac will not recognize the device...

Does the drive power up? Can you hear the drive spinning? If not, you may need a new power supply. If you can, try another cable or try another computer.

My iMac doesn't recognize my simpletech 160gb, but my PC does. Trying to get the hard-drive to work on the iMac.

Most likely it's formatted in NTFS which the Mac supports only with an addon, that you don't have.
The easiest way to fix that is to format the Simpletech in FAT32.

Simpletech hard drive

Your desktop usb compatibility is not supported your 160GB. The only way to attach you 160GB is to make it secondary partition to your primary drive by opening the CPU and attach it to your IDE cable.

Don't force yourself if you cannot do it by yourself just leave it to the expert. Probable cause to damage your hard drive if it is not installed properly.
