How did I 'mute' the sound from my Bose soundbar?

I have a Sony TV, and I get sound through a Bose soundbar. I dropped the remote; the next thing I know the sound when off and I can't get it back on even after disconecting/reconnecting. It has to be something simple, but I can't figure it out!!! When I increase the volume on my TV remote; I see a little symbol of my 'speakers' telling me that the sound is not coming through the soundbar. How do I get back the sound? Is there a button on my Bose remote that I need to press. I'm really stumped. Thank you

Try removing and replacing the battery in the remote , it may reset it or the drop may have damaged it .

I took the following steps: On my Sony TV remote: 1) Home Button 2) Settings 3) Sound 4)Audio Output 5) Digital Audio Output (PCM) After I completed these steps the sound worked fine. Can i connect a Bose lifestyle 135 sound bar & subwoofer to a Bose MC1 media center? If so how?

These components are meant to be compatible with each other, providing a seamless audio and video experience. Here's how you can connect them:
  1. Connections to the Media Center:a. Soundbar Connection: Connect the Bose Lifestyle 135 soundbar to the MC1 media center using an audio cable. Depending on the available ports on both the soundbar and media center, you might use an optical audio cable, coaxial audio cable, or another appropriate audio cable type.
    b. Subwoofer Connection: The Bose Lifestyle 135 subwoofer is a wireless subwoofer, which means it connects wirelessly to the media center. During the initial setup process, the subwoofer should automatically pair with the media center. Follow the instructions in the user manual to ensure proper pairing.
  2. Speaker Setup:
The Bose Lifestyle system, including the MC1 media center, typically uses Bose's ADAPTiQ audio calibration technology. This technology helps optimize the sound based on your room's acoustics and speaker placement. Run the ADAPTiQ calibration process as outlined in the user manual to ensure the best sound quality from your system.
  3. Remote Control:
Ensure that the remote control provided with the Bose MC1 media center is properly programmed to control both the media center and the soundbar. If needed, follow the instructions in the user manual to set up the remote control for seamless operation of all components.
  4. Audio and Video Sources:
Connect your audio and video sources (such as Blu-ray players, cable/satellite boxes, game consoles) to the appropriate inputs on the Bose MC1 media center. This allows you to route both audio and video signals through the media center and enjoy them with the soundbar and subwoofer.
  5. Power On and Configuration:
Power on the Bose MC1 media center and ensure that the soundbar and subwoofer are also powered on. Navigate through the media center's on-screen menus to configure the audio settings, input sources, and any other preferences.
  6. Testing and Adjustment:
Play different types of audio content to test the sound quality from the soundbar and subwoofer. Adjust the volume, bass, and other audio settings to your preference using the remote control and on-screen menus.
Remember to consult the user manuals for both the Bose MC1 media center and the Bose Lifestyle 135 soundbar for detailed setup instructions and troubleshooting tips. If you encounter any difficulties during the setup process, Bose customer support can also provide assistance.

Mute not working on sound bar remote

Hi,

Please double check that you've restarted all devices involved and then repeat this again. Also, please make sure that the volume buttons aren't stuck in the down position. Also, please make sure that soundbar isn't blocking tv sensor.

You might need to re-setup your bose soundbar.
Thank you.

How do I turn off the internal speakers on a tv Sanyo DP42841

You should be able to go to your tv Menu settings> sound> then look for speaker setting and select external speakers. I'm not sure how Bose works as far as setting input but if you have hdmi hooked up select the correct source. If you have a digital optic cable for audio then make sure you select that option as your input source through your soundbar.

Just purchased a Goodman 50 w sound bar connected to AUX on tv and sound bar clicked AUX on remote white light shows no sound just a loud buzz

To the best of my understanding an Aux port is usually an input port. So you might be sticking the sound bar terminals into the wrong connector in TV. The audio signal from the TV is meant to go into the Aux In port of the sound bar. Usually this will mean a pair of RCA cables (white and red) from TV out to Aux In. If you have done the right things then maybe check if soundbar is not in mute. Try some other source as well. Like connecting an iPhone or ipod stereo out to the Line In port in soundbar and selecting LineIn mode.
see page 7 in the soundbar manual. It is hard to know what TV connection you are using. Is it selected on the TV settings? http://www.goodmans.co.uk/support/downloads/user-guides/GDSB02BT20-ib.pdf

You have to use the TV remote to set the TV sound option to external. Look on TV setup menu for 'external output' or 'external speakers'.

How to get my Sony HT-CT60 Sound Bar Home Theater programmed to my GCI Cable remote?

This worked for me, but I have a Comcast Motorola DVD-R:
These are the codes for your SONY SA-CT60 Audio Device. Follow the instructions below to program your remote.
silver_with_red_ok_button-lg.gif Most likely code: 30158
Others to try: 31758, 31759
To program your Comcast remote:
  1. Turn on the TV or other device that you would like to program.
  2. Press the TV button on your remote control.
NOTE: If you would like to program your remote control to work with a DVD Player, VCR or Audio device press the AUX button.
  3. Press and hold Setup until the red light blinks twice, then release Setup.
  4. Enter the first code for your device listed above. If you perform this procedure correctly, the red light will blink twice.
NOTE: If you enter an invalid code, the red light will display one long blink and exit the programming mode. Repeat steps 2 to 4 with a valid code.
  5. Aim the remote control at your device and press Power once (press the Play key for devices that don't have a POWER button). If the TV turns off, make sure that the VOL+/- and Mute buttons also work. If so, you're all set!
  6. If not, repeat these steps using the next manufacturer's code (you may need to try several codes to find the one that works).
