Streched belt or badly adjusted. There is not idler pulley and spring, so adjustment must be from the motor. Zooming in, the drive pully is smooth and has no channel and wall to keep the belt in place. The pulley must be slightly crowned in the middle which centres the belt, but if it is the lightest bit loose, it will derail. Almost designed to fail!. That is a really bad design.,_PUMP_&_DRIVE_COMPONENTS

Pumping out or leaking out?

There are various rubber connectors underneath and they can perish and leak. There is a trick. slide a piece of paper under it. Switch on and after a minute, pull the paper out. It will give you a rough idea where the leak is, front, back, left or right. Then pull the machine out, and tilt it safely against the wall, get someone to hold it and look with a flashlight for the area where the wet patch on the paper was.

My GE top loading washer continues to fill while lid is up for loading.

fix the safety switch for the lid
all operations are to stop when the lid is opened

Spin cycle keeps restarting

Likely to be motor, specifically the brushes. depends on how old the machine is. brushes are replaceable and tend to need replacing from4-5 years with some makes

I have a GE washer WHDSR316G1WW and I cannot get a new belt installed. How do you install the new belt? It barely fits around the large pulley.

You are correct in that the belt seems overly tight. This is what I did.1) Get the belt on the large pully2) Using several ZIpTies every few inches, secure the belt to the pully3) Get a metal hanger and loop it through the belt making a safe handle at the end.4 Cover the handle with a cloth to protect your hands and to also provide grip.5) Have my 300 lb, 6'7" hulk of a son pull as hard as he can while you assist getting the belt on the motor spindle.

The washer (#WBSR3140GWW) does not spin on the spin cycle and the clothes come out very wet. What could be wrong??

The most probable trouble is the belt is streched and needs replacing. To replace belt remove front panel by placing a putty knife about two inches inward from the ends of front panel push the putty knife in and release clips for front panel.remove panel and belt will on bottom under the motor. On a lot of GE washers the oil in transmission leaks and soaks belt in oil so soon new belt will be oil soaked and needing replacment again if ya see a lot of oil in base belt will fix temporarly till its oil soaked,the fix then is to replace washer since trans. replacement is more than new washer

Help i found a broken belt in my ge washing machine wbvh5100hww i bought a new belt and tried to replace it, whenever i try to spin it to see if the belt will stay in place the belt slowly starts to come...

Are the two pulleys lined up with each other? Is the belt tight when installed? Make sure the motor is firmly attached at it's mounting. Is the drum or motor pulley hard to turn by hand? Make sure that neither pulley is wobbling or loose on it's shaft. Hope that some of this helps!

Washer wont drain or refill with water

You need to check your drain system before we can say for sure that looks like you are ready to get a new pump and/or belt.
These are the most common causes for machines not draining.

Washer fills and drains but won't aggitate or spin

Since the washer is less than an year old it must be under a warranty.Try contacting the customer care and get it replaced.

Generally for such a problem,the following checks need to be done.
* Test the lid switch
* Test the timer control
* Test the centrifugal switch
* Test the water level switch
* Inspect the motor coupler
* Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
* Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
* Test the motor
* Inspect the pulley
* Test the transmission

In your case I would advice to get your machine replaced with a new one.Good luck,Please do rate the solution if accepted.

Belt keeps coming off the pulley

I suggest you check your drum bearings, belt will only come off if misaligned.
