Thermador model GGCV30 gas cooktop

One burner will not light. Igniter fires, gas can be smelled. It lights briefly when I blow on the igniter while firing. Is there a gas orifice that needs cleaning or an oxygen adjustment

The flame spreader in the middle of the hob has a small hole that directs as jet of gas to the igniter. Put it in a pan of water and dish soap and gently heat it to almost a simmer. Be careful, it will want to boil over. Leave it to cool and and rinse it well paying attention to the holes in the edge. Blow it dry and try again.

Ge monogram ZGU366LPSS one burner does not light up

It will light with a lighter just not the igniter which means the igniter is not working, sometimes they crack and run to earth, remove the top and turn off the lights you will see it sparking where it's running to earth.

Burner igniters keep sparking long after the burner is lighted

The igniter is activated by a pressure switch, when you press a button or push in the knob, sounds like it has a bit of gunk in ther e stopping it from coming out again.

Thermidor GG30 cooktop front large burner will not light, does not spark. Three other burners work fine. Need instructions how to disassemble and repair. I am handy but no experience with this item. ...

Here is the part to order.

Close the valve in the gas line connected to the Thermador oven. Unplug the cooktop's electrical cord from the wall outlet.
Remove the screws under the front edge of the Thermador cooktop below the cabinet to release the cooktop from the countertop.

Put on work gloves then raise the cooktop at an angle. Recruit a friend to hold up the appliance while you work on the igniter underneath. The igniter is a pronged strip of black metal in a housing wired with two plugs connected to powericon1.png sockets underneath the Thermador cooktop.

Disconnect the two wired plugs on the end of the igniter from the sockets.
Take out the two screws in the metal plate that hold the igniter in position under the Thermador cooktop. Pull the igniter out of the mounting bracket in the cooktop.
Hold the new igniter by the housing and insert the part into the mounting bracket. Secure it with the two screws.
Connecticon1.png the two wired plugs to the sockets. One plug is larger than the other, which makes it simple to connect them correctly.

Lower the Thermador cooktop into position on the countertop and reattach it with the screws through the underside of the front edge.

On our 6 burner gas coocktop, the right two burners don't light

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

We have a thermador 5 burner gas range top and the pilot light seems to have gone out. The burners don't go on but we smell gas. How do we re-light it?

Most gas range tops no longer have pilot lights but use an electronic ignition (sparker) to light the burner. Normally when you turn the burner on you should here a snapping or sparking sound, at which point the burner should ignite. Here is a link to the user manual for 36" - 5 burner Thermador rangetop...maybe this will help: http://dl.owneriq.net/a/ac64ae7b-1ed3-44a3-9235-e4dbd8fe4628.pdf

By the way, in the short term you could always use a match to light the burner. JUST BE VERY CAREFUL THE YOU HAVE THE MATCH LIT AND OVER THE DESIRED BURNER BEFORE YOU TURN KNOB TO START THE BURNER!!!!

Constant sparking

I don't have a Thermador cooktop but here is ma taught.

Could you unplug the two faulty igniters and see if problem remained

Could you plug one of the faulty igniter at the location of a good one. The goal is to isolate the problem. Is it the igniter or the electronic board.

Faulty ground problem may occur also after an spillover on the stove. In that case, use a cotton swab dipped in scrubbing alcool and clean the spark area on the igniter and the burner.

Good luck

Thermador Burners Won't Light

your issue is the potentiometers kit which includes the simmer controller; Bosch redesigned it a couple of years ago due to the serveral issues, the re-lite spark module is RARELY the issue. and yes it is normal on all cooktops for all the burner to spark until you have igniton because the electrodes are wired in series. you may also need a prof. electrician check you pwr source because due to sudden drops in voltage or amperage could cause continuous issues with your liting sys
