Battery missing spring. Is there a way to order a new battery back for my hallmark snowman?

Had battery corrosion. Cleaned with vinegar. Tried tin foil for missing spring. Not working. Not sure if it's just a battery problem but I'm willing to find out.

I don't think that you can get a new battery pack for your Hallmark snow man.You will have to buy a new one.It looks like it is now broken.

Baked on tin foil on the bottom of my Frigidaire oven

Try the liquid that mechanics claim to do all. WD-40.
tip

This is not a "self-cleaning" oven. This is a manual cleaning oven. I cleaned it...

Before you choose to run you oven in the “Self Clean” mode be sure to read this.
After viewing many hundreds of range and oven problems there is one constant theme that comes through. “After running the self clean feature” on my oven I have this problem or that problem. Whether the oven is gas or electric does not seem to matter. The common thing is that the self cleaning feature was just used on the oven, and now it is not working, the glass broke, or you now, cannot even get the door open.

The basic idea of a self cleaning oven is to get the oven so hot that you incinerate everything that is in the oven. The heat from this process will burn up everything in the oven and sometimes things outside also. Even though the wiring and controls are built to withstand high heat, taking the oven to such high temperatures pushes everything to the limit. If something is not insulated perfectly or has shifted a bit then the heat causes it to fail. Repeated heating also wears the insulation out and causes it to break down. For this reason the self cleaning features should be used sparingly.

Manufacturers want to please the customer so even though they know that this can create problems they also know that this feature sells more products. It is in your best interest to not even use this feature if possible.

If you have a oven that will not unlock after the cycle you have a few things you can try.

First make sure that you wait long enough before you try to open the oven. If it has not cooled completely it will not open. Do not run a clean cycle when you do not have the time to let it cool completely before you need it. Sometimes if you cycle the power to your oven off and then on again you can reset the oven and it will open. Turn off the breaker to your oven for a good minute or two before reapplying the power again.

If this fails to work then check your manual for instructions or to get a factory service number. They should be able to give you the information you need to open your oven.

1990 Plymouth colt, new alternator, still won't charge. What tells alternator to charge battery?

Have you also had the battery checked? If the battery is bad, then it won't charge. All of the terminals need to be checked for corrosion. All wires must be secured properly. Check to see if the ground cable is properly attached to the frame of the vehicle.

Either you have not refitted the door back correctly, or the door hinge springs are weak, a common problem.
This being the case, then the only solution is to replace door hinges.

Can't get the oven door back on. it was sitting

As you said they are spring loaded so be careful. You will need to pull on the hinge, which takes some muscle and you should see a small hole to put a pin or small screwdriver in to hold the hinge out. When this is in place on both the hinges you can put the door back on. This is the most common hinge style on Wpl or there may be tabs on the tops of the hinges to hold the hinge out. If the door still does not close all the way after getting the hinges all the way on you will need to take the door apart and replace the hinge/spring assy. Thanks for rating me after you read this.

The only proper way to proceed is to replace both springs. I recommend that you order two new springs from Delonghi. here is their customer care website http://www.delonghiusa.com/index.php?texts&pid=3

Melted Tin Foil in bottom of oven

Unfortunately, it's too late. The tin foil has melted into the panel and can't be removed. The melted foil will not affect oven operation. You should never place anything on the bottom of a stove that has a hidden element. You will damage the panel. The only option you have is to replace the panel (if replaceable) or the entire oven liner...

Tin foil melted in my oven.

hi floppy,

if you can't scrape most of it off with a plastic scraper, you may have to buy a new bottom pan. if you can get most of it off it should be ok to use. also if you have propane gas make sure your stove was converted properly.

Melted Tin Foil in bottom of oven

Use "The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner" to dissolve the foil. *Caution* when the cleaner is applied to the foil a chemical reaction occurs releasing some harmful fumes so please use outside or in a well ventilated area. I just did this to a Frigidaire oven I bought from Lowes at a discounted price. The previous owners bought it, did not read the owners manual or just disregarded the warnings on using foil in the oven and thought they would line the bottom pan with foil to help make it easier to clean (Good idea, but don't try it on the hidden element ovens). With the heating element being hidden under the drip pan the heat is hot enough to melt the foil and fuse it to the pan. Now most of the pans on these ovens are removable by just a couple of screws and I strongly recommend removing the pan when doing this. Squirt some Works toilet bowl cleaner on it in a well ventilated area and watch it go to work. It took about 15 minutes for it to dissolve all the foil on my oven, then I rinsed it clean and reinstalled it in the oven. The pan does have a slight discoloration on it, not from the cleaner but from the foil being melted onto the pan, if you choose you can buff this out. Most of the modern ovens have the ceramic coated drip pans in them so the Works toilet bowl cleaner will not harm them, unless you have scratched the finish off. Works Toilet bowl cleaner contains a fair amount of hydrochloric acid which is what makes this work so well.
