Why does touchless water faucet only work when other faucet turned on?

I have a touchless water faucet installed on a copper countertop in the kitchen. It worked great for about nine months but now it won't activate when touched. The light will turn on and off but the water won't come out. However, if I turn on a faucet in the bathroom on the other side of the house, the touchless faucet in the kitchen DOES activate and the water comes out. Maybe there's a small charge that's interfering with the touchless faucet that gets grounded when I run water through the bathroom faucet? Any ideas? EDIT: By "touchless" I mean the kind that you can tap with your arm to activate, not the kind with a sensor.

    Thanks for your comment. It ended up being, as I suspected, a problem with a stray charge.

It's possible that the solenoid valve in the touchless faucet is not functioning properly, and needs to be replaced. Another possibility is that there is a loose or broken wire in the electrical circuit that powers the solenoid valve. You may want to check the connections and wiring, and consult a plumber or electrician if necessary, to help diagnose and repair the issue.

If you have a granite or stone countertop/sink, use silicone as plumber's putty will stain the stone. Plumber's putty is petroleum based so it will not adhere to stone. Normally you should use what the manufacturer recommends and where they recommend. When installing a faucet, put either around the base of any piece that goes through the countertop.

We have a single handle Moen kitchen faucet with the built in sprayer in the faucet. No hot water will come out and no water pressure in the hot position. Any ideas?
Check the cutoff valve under the sink to be sure it's fully on. If it is then the cartridge in the faucet may need to be cleaned or replaced.
