what will happen if you remove jumper?
have you looked at 4 wire thermostats at home depot? google 4 wire thermostat for more info.

  • Red wire: Power (24V input in most cases).
  • Green wire: Fan.
  • White wire: Heating.
  • Blue wire: Cooling.
  • Rh: Heating power.
  • Rc: Cooling power.

Microwave keeps blowing fuse as soon as plug into wall receptacle.

Just to clarify: With the door closed, the fuse will blow as soon as you plug the unit in? Have you checked all three microswitches? One acts as a crowbar.

I have a model #919.167200 5hp, 20gal. air compressor. It has been working great for years, but when I went to turn it on today it blew the breaker. I pulled cover and cleaned contacts on pressure switch,...

Hi dtsorrell...

If your somewhat of a mechanic/electrician then you can by-pass the pressure switch by hooking the color coded motor wires together with the incoming color coded wires from your power cord in the proper order.
Plug it in and then check to see if it blows the breaker again, if it does then it is your motor that is faulty.
Please take time to rate me.

I have a Maytag dryer model MED5740TQ0 that won't start. Dryer was recently moved to a new location. House was being remodeled so plug and breaker had to be installed. Plug is a 3 prong and dryer had 4...

If you are only getting 120v to the dryer, you still have a breaker tripped. It should be right next to the single pole 30. It takes 2 breakers to get the 240v you need to run the dryer. Try resetting another breaker expecially the ones marked 30amp. You do need to get a double pole breaker installed even for safety reasons.

The pump comes factory set for 230v. Power to the motor is 115v so I switched the jumper as indicated. The jumper is set on 2 posts with an arrow pointing to 230v. I moved it to 1 post and the arrow now...

CHECK YOUR BREAKER IT MIGHT BE THAT YOU ARE 230V .. IF IT IS A WIDE BREAKER ITS 230 OR IF IT IS A SLIM BREAKER ITS 115V , A VOLT METER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND.. REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE FIXIT GUY ! THANKS JAY

No power to white rogers thermostat

Hi,
Either you blew the fuse on the air handler control board or you burnt out the air handler transformer.
The thing that blew the fuse is probably the contactor in the condenser unit. You will need to check out out cause of the outage before replacing the fuse or transformer.

The compressor gets hot and trips the breaker

More than likely what happen was the internal overload in the compressor was tripped and didnt reset for 5 hrs and when it did it popped the breaker. The compressor was probably already shot. Sorry

Electric space heater contactor won't stay latched

Jumpered the bimetal thermostat and everything worked smoothly. Tried to clean contacts in thermostat with no luck, so ordered a replacement. At least it was cheaper than the contactor.
