not a computer posted to computers. help.
so bought dead or ran for 30 years and died just how? no history told. SORRY OUT OF THE BLUE SURE.
or you or others did wild EPROM updates and failed.
btw those EPROMs can self erase if window on top of it is exposed to sun light (super bad) or room light for years. (as in a PCB board sitting on a sHelf in a room top of shelf and not black label sticker covering the WINDOW of the EPROM (a round small quartz window) UV erased is fastest.

Rowe CD-100B Jukebox 1991 (30 years old now) one can expect thing that old to fail easy.

so all CDs tried fail" my guess this RIG is 100% dead.
that check Sum is not off the CD, those are CDDA music disks
my guess (wild) is the firmware is failing on the processor board. (most boards made with eprom did a checksum first to make sure the firmware was not corrupt and if is errors out and halts (uCODE)

What model is your Rowe Ami jukebox, there will be an information label on the back or inside the jukebox with the serial number and the model type. We can suggest a solution once we know your model type.

Put the slide switch in service position. Go past the errors (if any) by pressing Popular and Reset simultaneously then enter "55" the display should say "free play off" then hold down the reset key and push 9. This will toggle between "off" and "on" Toggle until the display indicates free play "on", then release the reset key and press the popular button. Put the service switch back in to the play position, The display should say "FP" however not all models display it exactly the same. If your computer's battery is good this setting will be retained. If you have to load the factory defaults for any reason OR another problem (dead battery) is causing the factory defaults to be loaded when you power on, this free play setting will be reset to "off" after power is interrupted.

My cd rowe ami jukebox is stuck in scan/transfer mode

Hello,

You say you do not have the digital display lite up, have you checked all of the breakers on the power supply?
If not do so. Rowe Ami jukeboxes are very prone to dry joints (cold joints in the USA) this is cracking around the soldered pin on the connections to the boards.
If you can solder correctly then check out the printed circuit board on the power supply. I would retest and see if the display now lights after correcting a fault on the power supply.
If that has not made any difference then proceed to the Mechanism Control Board and the Central Control Computer (CCC) and check again for dry joints.

If you can not solder with any confidence then send in your boards to a Rowe Ami specialist for testing/repair.

Song Programming

Hello,

With regards to your problem with the Rowe Ami 100 cd jukebox.
Do you have a manual, if not I suggest you buy a printer manual or one on CD and refer to the Programming and Installation section.

In order for the jukebox to know about the cd's that are installed in the jukebox it has to initialize all or the changed cd's that have been replaced within the jukebox.

Put the jukebox into the Service Mode (the service mode should appear on the display)
Type 3 to select the Initialize sub menu
Type 0 and full initialize will appear on the display
Press Popular to start the initialization
Place the jukebox service switch into the normal mode

Initiazation will take around 30 minutes to complete.

Rowe cd jukebox

There is something called a "play stimulator".
It's actually a program setting. When the jukebox is in a pub it is set to play a random record now and then to remind people there is a jukebox. It's programmed that way and can be turned on or off.

What you have is a setting for flipping the pages for the same reason.
It's not a fault it is actually doing what it has been told. You can time your watch to it.

I have no idea how to change it but rest assured it isn't a fault as such. It's been set up that way. You need a Rowe expert.
