Why does my Electrolux 4300EL keep overheating?

I have replaced the filter. There is no blockage in the tube or hose. The lint/dust container is empty. The original roller brush broke, so I'm using a regular non-rolling brush... and honestly, I found the roller brush head so bulky that I don't miss it--couldn't get into corners, under heavy furniture or close to the walls--and cleaning hair (human and cat) out of the brush was really hard, so I have no plans to replace it .

Does it stop and open up by itself when it over heats? It sounds like you did everything you could. The over heat sensor is too sensitive and may need replaced. I had one like that. The bag lid would pop open when the vacuum cleaner is hot.

Electrolux ultra one shuts off immediately after start up auto keeps flashing? ?

Chances are your tube is plugged up and the motor has overheated. Make sure you bag isn't full and your filters are cleaned. Try to locate the blockage either in the tube, the sweeper chute to the tube etc.

Wont turn on, How do I check to see if it is the switch?

First off, the manual for this model can be found here (
https://www.dyson.com/medialibrary/Files/Dyson/Support/downloads/US/Floorcare/manuals/dc17_opmanual_usa%20pdf.pdf ) Between the manual, and elements that run across a number of Dyson uprights, here are a few things to try. To be thorough, I'll start with the hopefull way-too-obvious.
Unplug and re-plug to the wall outlet, or plug into another one. If it's a GFI plug, or one hooked to a wall on/off switch, reset the plug / flip the switch (or plug something else in to verify that there's wall power)

Make sure the dust bin is empty.

Dyson systems have sensors for blockage and brush obstructions to keep from overheating or burning out components. If the system overheats, it'll shut down, and not re-engage until it's cooled. If that may have happened, best to check, rather than turn it back on and re-overheat it due to the blockage still being there.

Go through the parts of the clearing-blockage pictures on page 9 of the manual. If there are blockages, the system will shut down to keep from overheating.

Check the filters. If they look dirty or dusty, wash them (as covered in the manual) and try again.

Detach the tube/wand from the back. Detach the wand and look through it for blockage. Either look down the tube, or stretch it out long and you should be able to see through the translucent walls, for blockage. If you find it, i've found a wire coat hanger bent into marshmallow-toaster shape, with a small hook bent into the end with pliers, to be pretty good at snaking from the ends of the tubes to grab wads of paper or lint (that's what usually ends up clogging my DC07 when it happens).

For the switch itself, there's a fair amount of disassembly to getting to the guts of the switch proper. IF you go that route, make sure it's unplugged first. Try just cycling the switch a dozen times or so and feel for if you're getting a distinct click from the toggle. Feel if it moves easily, or might feel jammed or impeded. if so, look in with a flashlight and see if there is any obvious lint or debris keeping the switch from moving easily.

Good Luck!

UltraLux keep overheat

1. Check the hose for blockages. Do this by dropping a coin, marble, or other small round object down one end, raising hose and letting it fall out the other end. It can usually be cleared by attaching hose to blower, pointing other end outside, and turning on.
2. Check for blockage in the power head elbow.
3. Check the afterfilter. It's locater under the plastic cover on the top of the back of the vacuum.
4. If you have fine dust in your area, make sure the dial on top is set at the smallest dot. This will allow the bag to fill fuller.
Regarding fine dust, never use it to vacuum up sheetrock dust. It will go right through the bag and into the motor, quickly ruining it.

If none of these problems exist, take it in to have it checked out. Overheating is normally due to a blockage of some sort.

Changed bag and filter, filter light keeps coming on, not working

First, turn dial on top of vacuum counter-clockwise so the smallest dot lines up with the arrow. See if it stays on. If not, detach hose and turn vacuum on. Place palm of hand over intake. If it turns off, it's possible that the tubes connecting to the CVA are clogged and simply need cleaned. This is most often caused by using "made to fit" Electrolux bags. Dust is sucked through the bags and into the motor compartment of the machine. All interior parts get covered in dust and need to be cleaned. If this is the cause, the vacuum is best cleaned and repaired at an authorized Aerus Electrolux store. If the vacuum shuts off, or won't turn on before placing hand over the intake, it's probable the control valve assembly is bad and needs replaced.

Another cause is an overheated motor due to clogged screen at back of bag well, full or clogged bag, dirty afterfilter, bad wiring/connections, clogged hose, clogged power head, or bad motor. It depends largely on the type and model of cleaner. Clogged wands are also a possibility, but unlikely.

Check and clean screen at back of bag well.

Replace bag. Make sure it's a genuine Electrolux bag made by Home Solutions.

Check and replace afterfilter if necessary. These should be replaced after every six bags.

Broken and worn wiring connections are often found in the hose ends due to abuse and normal wear and tear. You can check the continuity of the hose using a continuity tester or multi-tester. If a multi-tester, turn dial to one of the Ohm settings. Place one probe into one of the terminals on the end of the hose. This will be referred to as T1. Touch the other probe to each of the terminals/connections on the other end of the hose. These will be T3 and T4. One of them should read zero, the other should read infinity. Repeat this with the other terminal, which will be T2.

Drop a marble in one end of hose and let it roll through. If it doesn't roll through, the hose is clogged and needs to be cleared. Plug hose into the exhaust port of the vacuum, place other end in the in port. Turn vacuum on. This provides a blowing and sucking action which should clear the hose.
Detach hose from power nozzle (PN). Drop a marble into the wand end of PN. If it rolls through, it's clear. If not, there's probably a clog behind the brush where the intake opening is. You may be able to reach this through wand end with needle nose pliers, or either end with a knitting/crochet needle or a bent coat hanger.

If none of these "fixes" provide the answer to the problem, it should be taken to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis. Repairs or checks involving disassembly of the vacuum should always be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service technician.

The store nearest you can be found by following the instructions at the below listed link:

IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL

Try letting unit cool. If container was full it may have overheated. Also should clean filters while cooling down. If this does not work then its time for the shop. Most likely the cord.

Vacuum cleaner won't go - missing a step

In between the filters there's an access panel that can be removed - there may be a blockage there. You should also check your hose for a blockage.

Otherwise you may need to take it to your local Electrolux Service Center. There may be a problem with the pressure board. The machines have a 2 year warranty, not sure what it'd be in your neck of the woods.

Electrolux Z8240 model vacuum cleaner flashing red & blue 1 every 6 seconds. What could be wrong with it

Inside ,the dust collection container, there at the far end is a white cone shape (another filter). I think you may find this covered in lint etc and if you reach in with your hand you can just pull the stuff off. Happened to me around the two month mark and I THINK, so far, so good. My machine is now not switching off and flashing lights at me and the suction is back to fabulous. Found this information on another obsure website. You would think electrolux would mention it in their "Troubleshooting Guide" GOOD LUCK
