Sometimes it is able to run for up to an hour and the sides and compressor get really hot then the power seems to cut out to the whole freezer. It then starts trying to restart its self over and over again every few seconds flashing the screen and lights inside each time it tries with a relay clicking at the top. If we leave it unplugged for a few hours it will manage to start again and do the same routine of running for a while then dying again. We have replaced the inverter board and the overload sensor recomended by an engineer but hasn't fixed the problem. we have vaccumed out the condenser and checked everythings getting enough air. its been running fine for over 5 years till this point. We have tried other sockets as well incase that was the problem but did the same everywhere. It also doesn't show any errors on the screen. We are all a little stumped. Hope can help, thanks!
Your description makes me think the compressor motor has shorted turns causing it to overheat and trip the thermal link.
Time for a new compressor or a replacement freezer may be less expensive.
Thankyou for your answer, That would explain a lot. Would the thermal link cut power to whole freezer though or just compressor? We still have warranty on the compressor so hoping its that.
I would think the compressor. The pcboard may detect there is power with no load and shut down, who knows, it is a Samsung after all and probably made by Whirlpool as they seem to make everything now.??
